Hello and a warm welcome to you lovely lot. I'm about to brew a fresh pot of tea and there are plenty of goodies for us to munch on...grin

Elegran Wed 08-Oct-14 10:50:57

Teetime Go back and ask her if she could please wispify the sideburns a bit , as you have now had a good look at them and you don't like them as blunt. It would only take her a couple of minutes, and I am sure she would rather do that than have you not come back.

We are all miffed. I'm about to explode with frustration. We have been attempting to revamp our BT internet access [as instructed] for almost an entire week. MacS has contacted the helpline so many times we've lost count. He phoned the help desk and explained the problem. The young man was most helpful. We are, however, still very much in the dark so to speak. We get just so far with what is described as being a simple procedure and then we are informed that our password, which we've used successfully for six years, cannot be verified. There is so much more to this blasted, on going, frigging, waste of time that I have managed to splutter coffee all over the keyboard. Dear MacS always keeps his cool. I, on the other hand, am a disgrace. blush

I shall return when I have calmed down. flowers for every one of you.

That magic word, soop. Twitter! Also, BT have a customer service page on Facebook and will pick up your issue and see you through to your satisfaction if you go on there.

MiceElf Wed 08-Oct-14 12:58:23

Agree. A sharp few words on Twitter tends to get a very swift response. Use the hashtag for BT and be very stern. They don't like bad publicity.

soop Wed 08-Oct-14 14:16:29

when and MicesElf I have taken on board your suggestion. We had a phone call from our pal [who lives locally] but is in Edinburgh today. He's usually here in a trice whenever we hit this type of problem. He has given MacS yet another possible way forward/solution. I have been instructed to stay cool, calm and collected when MacS joins me in a few minutes. I really was rather naughty during his conversation with the fellow on the helpline. I could do with a stiff G&T and a handful of cashew nuts. However, as I'm doing my utmost to lose the spare tyre, I shall desist. wink I shall report back ASAP

Charleygirl Wed 08-Oct-14 14:18:00

soop and MacSporran all the very best for your trip tomorrow. Have something easy to prepare for your supper because after all that driving and waiting at the hospital, you will be exhausted.

soop Wed 08-Oct-14 15:58:40

We have finally completed the easy three stage steps ...it has taken us an entire week with a heck of a lot of blaspheming on my part. blush MacS was brilliant throughout the latest and most successful half hour long discussion. I was forced to keep my mouth zipped. Rory was not amused. He cannot understand why it is that his need for fuss and attention has been overlooked. hmm

Did any of our Kitcheners watch tlast night's marvellous television programme about the nature of cats...there is a further hour long programme tonight.

Thank you dear Charleygirl. Although I won't be visiting the kitchen tomorrow, I shall pop in to make sure that all is well on Friday. Friday morning we both have the annual flu jag/jab. All in a very good cause. smile

Galen Wed 08-Oct-14 16:54:42

Good luck McS

moomin Wed 08-Oct-14 17:14:33

Yes, good luck and safe travels tomorrow soop and MacS

Charleygirl Wed 08-Oct-14 17:25:02

I watched the cat programme and loved it. They were all gorgeous. There are 3 programmes in total. I am assuming but I have not checked, that the 3rd programme is on tomorrow evening.

Tegan Wed 08-Oct-14 17:55:13

The original series was just plain boring [they spent a lot of time and money finding out that cats did what we all know they do; eat, sleep and wander round gardens]. But this series, with the lovely Liz [who doesn't know how to make a boring programme] is far more interesting.

Good luck for tomorrow, soop and McS. I do hope the weather favours you. It's been a wet afternoon here but a blink of blue has belatedly appeared.
Lona - over many years experience of both male and female hairdressers, I have concluded that the former do what they want and the latter do what I want.

Lona Wed 08-Oct-14 18:13:38

Well, anno I'd have to dispute that, as the reason for my change of hairdresser was because she stopped doing what I wanted! I do agree that men are usually worse though.

Good luck tomorrow soop and MacS

jamsidedown Wed 08-Oct-14 19:34:24

Good luck soop and macS for tomorrow. Will be keeping everything crossed for you. flowers

Lona my (current) hairdresser offers a fringe cutting service in between cuts but she says hardly anyone takes them up on it. I am usually too ashamed at my lack of skill in keeping my unruly mop in check to take them up on the offer, hence resorting to the nail scissors! I know I am stupid, what do they care! I hope this one does as she is told as she has a nice line in conversation and is a bright and interesting girl - much better than the "have you got any holidays booked" brigade.

Good luck from me too Soop safe journey

kittylester Wed 08-Oct-14 21:12:14

Good luck tomorrow soops. flowers

Soutra Wed 08-Oct-14 21:26:42

You may be tucked up in beddy byes as you have an early start but just wanted to add my good wishes for the tests and safe journeys.
May I make a suggestion for the ideal password according to a (non PC) blonde joke? A bimbo when asked why she had chosen Mickeyminnieplutopopeyesnowwhitecinderellabambiwashington replied that she had been told it had to include 7 characters and one capital. grin

Good wishes for today Soop & MacS you are both in my thoughts. flowers

You were very much missed at the meet up on Sunday, Soop.

Glad you finally got the BT problem sorted.

Galen I'm sorry the cruise was such a disappointment, better luck next time.

ffinnochio Thu 09-Oct-14 08:50:59

All the best for today, Mr. & Mrs. Soop. x

Agus Thu 09-Oct-14 08:59:23

Hope all goes well for you today soop and macS x

Galen Thu 09-Oct-14 09:39:29

And from me

harrigran Thu 09-Oct-14 12:01:53

Best wishes winging your way soop and Mr soop.

soop Thu 09-Oct-14 18:13:12

I love you lot to bits. grin Have just this minute returned from the Oban trip. Many thanks for all your kind good wishes. The weather was perfect. I drove all the way there and MacS drove home. That road is a wicked one...beautifully scenic and just about the Z-bendiest road that we've ever encountered. There are more than a few scary corners to navigate - around which one is likely to meet big, bulky beasts like buses and logger lorries taking up a lot of road space. shock

Well...MacS had had both the ultrasound and biopsy. Goodie gum drops. The results will be scrutinised by the Consultant in Glasgow, who attends a clinic in Campbeltown one day each month. It's unlikely that MacS will be seen at the next clinic, which is held sometime late next week. However, he's chuffed that the procedure is crossed off the list. Now...all we can do...is wait.

Baubles I would have loved to have been able to travel to Edinburgh. It's simply too far for me. Also, my hearing is lousy in busy groups of talkative folk.

I also cut my own fringe with nail scissors. It's a fluffy fringe. When it grows too long, I look a lot like a certain breed of dog. Yes, the cat programme is on again tonight. We are loving it.

Guess what arrived in today's post...that jacketgrin and, it is MARVELLOUS. When I opened up the tissue paper, I shouted Wow!!!! I now need a beautiful camisole. I have earmarked a few on eBay. When I have one, together with a small, chic hat, I shall put on the outfit and give you all a twirl. In the meantime, I shall take a long look at it every time I open the wardrobe. Honest to goodness, it is a delightful garment and I'm certain that, had I trawled around all the shops in Glasgow [and beyond] I would not have found anything like for £25...Tee hee...

Away to prepare something light for our supper. We treated ourselves to a tasty lunch in Oban. Rory is winding around my legs. He is trying his utmost to get my undivided attention.

Until tomorrow...(((hugs))) moon

jamsidedown Thu 09-Oct-14 18:52:02

soop so glad it all went okay. That drive sounds interesting ....and what a lovely welcome home treat. I hope you are both able to put your feet up and relax.
