What is it about the reality of abusive behaviour that you find so difficult to even acknowledge
Doesn't it depend on the individual whether it is abusive behaviour or not?
Two examples that happened to me:
1) When I was about 25, I was walking in a local shopping area near a roundabout. A van drove past with two young men in it and one leaned out of the window and wolf-whistled (I looked at them and shoved my nose in the air at them), they drove round the roundabout again but this time, the one young man shouted 'I love you', around the rounabout they went again and when they next passed, he shouted 'marry me'. I found that funny (not laugh out loud funny but amusing).
2) Walking down the road (I was about the same age), a man, driving a delivery wagon, slowed the wagon down, leaned out of the window and shouted 'I could show you a thing or two' to which I replied, equally as loud, 'there is nothing you could show me that I haven't seen before except you are no doubt in a worse condition'. He drove on. That one I found offensive.
As with all else, it is about implied intent - those examples show that one was nothing more than a bit of fun and the other introduced an element of sex into it.
