Good Morning Everyone,
Its another sunny start here in Brackley this morning.
Mick

Mornin' Mick, mornin' All. A bit grey here but the sun is trying to break through. Looks like we may have had a light shower over night. So much for the forecast that it would rain all afternoon yesterday. The Countryfile forecast was for rain nearly every day this week, but weather forecasting seems to have gone completely to pot, only standing a chance of being right 24 hours before.

Morning everyone and Mick.

Sun coming up nicely.

Off with WI on boat trip to Windsor for the day - there will be plenty of laughter and cafe stops. smile

Gagagran Tue 24-Jun-14 07:45:52

Morning all. Yet more lovely summer weather here in SE Hampshire. I have a funeral to attend this morning for a 93 year old lady, who was a founder member of our WI. There will be a good turn out for her. We are all going to have a pub lunch afterwards, which she would have loved.

Does anyone else know the old saying "Happy the bride the sun shines on, Happy the dead the rain falls on" ? It always comes to mind for each event but I have no idea where it stems from.

Happy days everyone. sunshine

Good morning everyone!

Bright and sunny again today. I am going to do some gentle dead heading today and then some vicious removal of Laides Mantle and Montbretia! This afternoon I have lots of letters and emails to send.

One of my friends is going to see whether she needs more chemo so I will await her call fairly anxiously too!

Enjoy your days everyone! sunshine

Slightly cooler, and a bit of cloud here in the north west, but it isn't raining grin. I have a very interesting day ahead, and feel so lucky to be retired, and in a position to enjoy so many things. Hope everyone else is having a good day

Good morning everyone, and the sun is shining here again - it is almost boring! I think it is going to be hot, that is the forecast anyway, and we are going to go to bowls for the regular organised 'roll-up' session seem to have been neglecting our regular bowling recently, there has been so much to do in the garden. Found another deserted birds nest yesterday, I am so cross with myself for cutting everything back too soon - or too soon for the birds that is. Enjoy your days.

Good morning everyone dull and cloudy at the moment in NI but of recent years as the afternoon goes on the sun comes out and it becomes lovely and sunny well into the evening.

This morning off to my painting class last one before summer hols. This afternoon Wimbledon on TV I hasten to add

Gagagran I know the line "Happy is the bride sun shines on" but never knew there was a second line

ninathenana Tue 24-Jun-14 08:19:59

Morning all.
Lovely morning here in N.Kent. We've got the youngest GS today. Nankate sounds like a lovely day, have you got room for one more smile

Nice morning in north essex. Yes I have heard that saying as well gagagran and I dont know where it comes from but my mother used to say it

Morning, folks! A fine day here, too. My garden beckons for an hour this morning. I seem to spend most of the time pruning back the bushes, which are growing at an alarming rate. The June drop of lots of little apples and plums is making the path a bit treacherous - I skated a couple of feet on some of them last night. Must remove the hazard before it removes me! grin

AlieOxon Tue 24-Jun-14 08:29:59

Mornin' all.
Woken up early by something (possibly next door's dogs, continual nuisance) - but OUT of a discussion over my pillow by my sister and boyfriend, who were making me a leopard-skin bust-bodice and talking about my measurements.........uh? It was a dream, of course.....I hope!

hildajenniJ Tue 24-Jun-14 08:38:43

Morning Mick and all. It's overcast here in Northumberland but quite warm. I'm taking my 91yr. old Dad to his eye appt. at Carlisle this morning and will probably stay for lunch with him. He's not the best company as he is very deaf and conversation is difficult even when he wears his hearing aids.hmm

suebailey1 Tue 24-Jun-14 08:39:40

Good morning yes its fine here to and not too hot so its a few holes of golf with a friend who enjoys the chat more than the golf and she always has the juiciest gossip.

Lona Tue 24-Jun-14 08:54:06

Morning all, it's a bit dull here and slightly cooler than yesterday. That's a good thing (?) as I've another pile of ironing to get done! hmm
Note to self 'Wear fewer clothes!'

hildaj I remember those conversations with my lovely dad! smile

Dragonfly1 Tue 24-Jun-14 09:21:31

Oh AlieO, a leopard skin bust-bodice indeed! Oh to be a dream analyst! Kitty, hope your friend's news is good. I'm afraid my day is fairly mundane - garden tidying, ironing (haven't done any for weeks) and I'm going to attempt to put a new hinge on the utility room door. That'll be fun.

harrigran Tue 24-Jun-14 10:16:22

Good morning, very light rain here this morning. Think I will use this morning to shop for DIL's birthday present.

Brendawymms Tue 24-Jun-14 12:16:57

Afternoon from a sunny Bulgaria. I am in Varna having come past Istanbul yesterday. Tomorrow we are going into Odessa as the F.O. Have ok'd it.

Anne58 Tue 24-Jun-14 12:24:41

The weather is sunny in North Devon, but I'm not.

kittylester Tue 24-Jun-14 12:27:45

(((HUGS))) phoenix

AlieOxon Tue 24-Jun-14 13:03:22

Dragonfly - I have no idea! and I used to know pretty much what my dreams were about.....I did see a teapot in a leopard pattern yesterday on the Antiques Roadshow, but....???

I don't think I will tell my sister - I might get one!

AlieOxon Tue 24-Jun-14 13:04:02

A bust-bodice I mean

Dragonfly1 Tue 24-Jun-14 13:11:30

A teapot would possibly be more useful. You've had me chuckling all morning Alie! X

Dragonfly1 Tue 24-Jun-14 13:15:33

Phoenix hugs. My daughter has been trying to get a job for six months now after being made redundant from quite a senior managerial role at Christmas. She keeps getting to the last two or three at interview but it's always the same story - an internal candidate gets the job. My heart goes out to her and to you. X

AlieOxon Tue 24-Jun-14 15:21:24

I looked up bust-bodices - and found a leopard pattern WEDDING DRESS on the way.....!
