Hello yet again to you lovely lot. The Champagne is ready. Do hope that I shall be welcoming you very soon. smile

soop Sun 08-Jun-14 17:02:33

Yep! Sudacreme in the cabinet. If I can crop the pic of MacS' nasty bit (which matches) the photo I Googled on NHS website, I shall add it to my album. No pun intended. I've emailed a pic to bags...the original version.
Give me 5 mins...

soop Sun 08-Jun-14 17:11:05

I've included a pic. As you will note, it is a very nasty rash. He is fast asleep...has no energy whatsoever. Back to see his doctor tomorrow. I've printed the photo that I found on the NHS website including the blurb regarding symptoms...the two photos match. I shall be extremely annoyed if the doctor doesn't realise what's up. Good grief! hmm

Dragonfly1 Sun 08-Jun-14 17:43:49

Good grief soop, that looks dreadfully painful! Poor chap, let's hope the antibiotics kick in quickly.

Marelli Sun 08-Jun-14 17:51:20

A sore one! The antibiotics will be kicking in now, hopefully? Poor MacSporran. sad

annodomini Sun 08-Jun-14 18:36:11

I've missed all this angst about McSporran because I've been out with family. Lovely picnic and sitting in the sun. I do hope that this awful sore is quickly banished by the medication. He sounds very poorly♥to you both.

thatbags Sun 08-Jun-14 20:27:36

Oh golly, soop! Just... well... oh golly! Poor MacSporran! And poor you! what a worry. I do hope her gets the treatment he needs tomorrow and no messing!

I've been out all day, taking my archery coaching course exam and stooging for other candidates. Driving home, I hoped MrB had got in some gin cos that's what I needed (I passed, btw, but it was a long day).

Got home and asked about gin. No he hadn't got gin. [disappointed thought] "Anything like that?" I asked.
"Champagne?" he said. He's good that way smile
We polished off the bottle between us and Minibags, who couldn't be persuaded to take even a sip, listened contentedly to our parental prattle under the influence, tiddly but not pissed. [contented sigh]

Sending out good wishes for the same contentment and strength in difficult times to all my gransnet pals flowers

mrshat Sun 08-Jun-14 20:45:41

Ouch - poor McSporran! That looks so SORE. Best wishes to him for a speedy recovery and good wishes to you to soop. Keep him happy with tea and sympathy!! flowers for you both.

Agus Sun 08-Jun-14 20:56:11

Oh, poor soul. That looks very angry. I shouldn't imagine the doctor can't miss this one Soop. Best wishes to McSporran

ffinnochio Sun 08-Jun-14 22:17:07

Soop ~ Wishing Mr Soop a VERY speedy recovery. Here's hoping medicine kicks in pronto! flowers

Congrats. B! sunshine There was never any doubt.

I've also been having a sip of champagne (well, crémant de Bourgogne - good as) Had a few friends in to thank them for their support during a recent difficult time for Mr. Ffinn. Yes - here's to contentment and strength.

whenim64 Sun 08-Jun-14 22:42:58

soop I've just looked at the photo and can see why MacSpooran is feeling so out of sorts. I hope those antibiotics do the trick and he's feeling a lot better in the morning. Dear me - why don't men listen? I hope you both manage a good night's sleep and have a much better day tomorrow smile

numberplease Sun 08-Jun-14 22:50:21

That looks SORE Soop, I do hope that poor McSporran gets sorted tomorrow.
Well done Bags!

Agus Sun 08-Jun-14 23:53:16

Missed your post bags. Well done on the pass. What a thoughtful guy Mr B sounds. Definitely a keeper!

soop Mon 09-Jun-14 12:19:39

Huge congratulations to our bags flowers

MacSporran is, I'm sorry to say, very much under the weather (physically speaking). The rash that I photo'd for you to see is now at least 4 times bigger and angrier. He's also smothered in large spots. Last night's supper went uneaten. Much more serious...he poured his wee dram back into the bottle. shock He's very sleepy and his muscles ache. Most unlike my dear MacS Back to doctor at 2.30. It wouldn't surprise me if he was admitted to hospital. I'm preparing a bag...just in case.

Take care, all of you. I shall update you later. sunshine

Dragonfly1 Mon 09-Jun-14 12:26:22

Oh soop, poor McSp. It does sound suspiciously like lymes doesn't it? Do hope he's sorted soon, for both your sakes. Xx

Lona Mon 09-Jun-14 12:28:52

I hope he gets some fast treatment soop, wish him well xx

bags Very well done, although for us it was a foregone conclusion! flowers wine

Marelli Mon 09-Jun-14 12:29:38

Fingers crossed for MacSporran, soop. Let us know as soon as you have time?
And well done to you, bags! wine smile

Agus Mon 09-Jun-14 15:01:55

Hoping that whatever the outcome of McSporran's condition is, it is dealy with quickly and he makes a speedy recovery. What a worry for you both. flowers

Hello again, we were with the doctor for forty minutes...should have been ten. However, there was much to examine and the wretched computer started to act up so the poor doc was very frustrated. It does appear that John's problems stem from an infected tic bite. A urine sample that indicates a secondary infection is en route to the lab. More antibiotics, this time, Co-amoxiclav prescribed. A blood sample will need to be taken in approx. 30 days...the gestation period needed before Lymes disease can be established for certain. If J needs to return to surgery at any time he can, otherwise, he's another appointment on Friday morning. Poor love, he's back in his chair and nodding off to sleep again. Naturally, Rory is taking advantage big time.

I'm well aware that J's problems are very insignificant compared with those of many of our Granspals. I apologise for bleating away umpteen to the dozen. Being able to discuss and share niggles on our forum is extremely comforting.

I send love to all my pals. Once again...well done dear bags.

Lona Mon 09-Jun-14 16:16:00

soop NO APOLOGIES please! We are here for you to blether to and we love it!
At least John has been well attended to, you seem to have very good health care there. flowers xxx

Bellasnana Mon 09-Jun-14 16:18:14

soop I'm so sorry your poor DH is having to suffer such an unpleasant affliction. It sounds (and looks!) really horrible. Do hope he will be feeling better soon, and am glad Rory is giving him plenty of TLC smile
It certainly doesn't sound like an insignificant problem at all. Just because some people have worse problems don't make yours any easier.

I've had a difficult few days. Finding it very tough at the moment. Being strong for everyone else isn't easy sad

Nelliemoser Mon 09-Jun-14 16:31:58

Bellasnan (((hugs)))

soop Mon 09-Jun-14 16:37:08

Lona smile You are lovely.

Bella armfuls of flowers and sunshine to you.

kittylester Mon 09-Jun-14 16:47:36

Bella, soop and anyone else who needs to - blether away. That is the reason soop's kitchen is special! flowers

We look after each other here. flowers

annodomini Mon 09-Jun-14 16:48:11

soop, there's nothing insignificant in McS's situation. It sounds both painful and rather scary for both of you. He's having good care which is a boon, but it's terribly trying for you as well. ((((hugs)))) to both of you.

numberplease Mon 09-Jun-14 16:52:26

Love to Soop and McSporran xx
