MacSporran thanks you all for your kindness and concern. He is adamant that he feels that he needs to take his GP's advice - "to return next week if matters worsen..." I'm extremely cross with him...and he knows it. However, if by tomorrow my concern is greater than it is now...

At this point, our dear pals from the village called by. I insisted that MacS drop his pants and expose the evil rash. Our pal has convinced MacS to pop into A&E in Campbeltown TOMORROW. If he feels worse during the night, he's to phone him. That's friendship for you.

I shall let you know what happens tomorrow.

Anxiously waiting for news of McSporran's rash - do hope he's ok. Nasty little buggers blighters, ticks.

Phew! We're back from a visit to Campbeltown hospital and MacSporran is armed with some very strong antibiotics. His rash is much worse, he has a raised temperature and blood and protein in his urine...and he feels washed out. So...what did we all tell him...and why were we so insistent? MacS like most men can be bloody-minded when it comes to minor health matters. Thing is, minor health matters can lead to something far worse. That's precisely what the lady in A&E told him. She hadn't seen anything like the rash. She insists that he returns to his GP tomorrow...and in the meantime he's to take the medication. I Googled Lyme's disease. There is a photo on the site that is exactly like MacSporran's rash. It has a dark purple raised centre with puncture marks. The inflammation is spreading in separate patches. On a naughty note, I asked MacS to drop his trousers close to the light of the window, so that I could take a close-up photograph of the rash. As I was homing in for the shot the Campbeltown-bound bus went by. ...that'll give the passengers something to think about...

Very glad you persuaded MacSporran to see sense and visit the hospital. Sounds really nasty but hope the medication will help. Sending very best wishes for a speedy recovery

I really think you should tell him that you've posted the photo on here to put our fears at rest! Make sure you take a pic of his initial reaction though!!

I hope he is better soon. Silly man he should have gone yesterday. We women told him.

Well the main thing is he got there and is now on medication. It might just teach him to listen to your advice in future Soop. Hope he gets well soon

Soop I am so glad your OH has been seen to. I have taken ticks out of my OH belly button and some very unmentionable places. My OH never listens to me, but all it takes is 1 contaminated tick usually off a sheep or deer to cause the damage. I am quite paranoid about them now, after hearing what can happen. So much so that I have bought my OH those disposable suits, (the ones that forensics use), to put on when he goes where the little blighters might be. I confiscate the car keys if he doesn't wear them

I'm actually feeling sorry for McSporran now. All these women on at him and he has a wee sore bum (well roughly in that area). Then he has his wife snapping saucy shots of his best feature.

I have this picture in my mind of the Campbeltown bus passing by (and it can't go fast on that corner, can it, soop - heads would be turned to look at your lovely garden and there - in all his splendour - is MacSporran in the window with his 'poorly bit' exposed to the camera and to the passengers of the West Coast Motors bus. Bless him!

soop, I've only just caught up with life in your kitchen and so much has been happening. Thank goodness MacSporran was willing to go to the hospital this morning. Men! What would we do without them.
I hope he is well on the way to recovery now, no more cavorting in the long grass.

Thanks Dusty day 4 of having my wheels back and even driving to the dump this morning was a joy! This no doubt will wear off but at the moment it's 'wheels on fire'.
