Nelliemoser Sun 01-Jun-14 18:59:29

Thanks kind people. It sometimes feel hard to admit when you are feeling miserable. flowers

Marelli Sun 01-Jun-14 19:13:13

And here's a bunch from me, Nellimoser flowers. x

Marelli Sun 01-Jun-14 19:45:52

Why is it I keep reading the title of this lovely new thread as 'Soop's Knickers'? Sorry about that.... confusedblush!

Agus Sun 01-Jun-14 20:09:21

That's enough champers for your Marelli. grin

Marelli Sun 01-Jun-14 21:00:10

grinwink !!

kittylester Sun 01-Jun-14 21:02:59

Nellie - it's horrid when one feels generally down (((hugs)))

Dragonfly1 Sun 01-Jun-14 22:01:43

Hugs from me too, Nellie. Big ones. X

soop Mon 02-Jun-14 12:15:26

Oh Yes!!! Marelli I'm having a right royal giggle. Soop's Knickers indeed...now let me check...hmm whiter than white Sloggis, size 16 (worn inside out) so that the label doesn't scratch...a girl needs to feel comfortable. grin

I do love you lot...just saying.

annodomini Mon 02-Jun-14 12:48:39

You aren't the only one, Marelli! grin

soop Mon 02-Jun-14 16:24:47

anno ...they do say that great minds think alike...whoever "they" may be. wink

It's really chilly here in bonnie Kintyre. Flaming June is some place else. About to put a baggy woolly sweater on and thick knee-length socks... so classy, me!

Marelli Mon 02-Jun-14 16:32:20

Just been for lovely long walk. It's breezy and dull, but not cold. Just what the doctor ordered to blow worries to the side.
soop, my knickers are also a comfy size 16....... can't bear tight drawers! grin

numberplease Mon 02-Jun-14 16:56:49

Do they reach your waist Marelli? I can`t stand `em draped across the top of me thighs, just about covering the necessary!

annodomini Mon 02-Jun-14 17:16:24

I like them stretchy - baggy ones always feel as if they're about to fall about my knees.
Weather has taken a sharp turn for the worse - just as I was taking the bin out, the sky opened.

Marelli Mon 02-Jun-14 17:17:37

Of course they do, number. My 'necessary' has to be covered at all times! blush

Lona Mon 02-Jun-14 17:18:36

Not 'arf anno. It's persisting down with a vengeance!

Marmight Mon 02-Jun-14 17:29:27

I'm a Sloggi girl too and my necessaries have to be covered from 'top' to 'bottom' but I now find 16 is a little too capacious so have reduced to a 14 - hurrah! I have whirled around the house like a dervish today readying everything for G's arrival from Oz tomorrow. I am all of a dither - I hate to think of her and H stuck in a tin can up in the air for so long. H is very active and loud - I wouldn't want to be sitting next to them for 24 hours shock

janeainsworth Mon 02-Jun-14 18:04:48

I don't pop in here very often, just want to say I feel your excitement Marmight but know what you mean about the loved ones and aeroplanes! Hope you enjoy every minute of their visit.wine

soop Tue 03-Jun-14 14:17:50

Hello again to my dear Granspals Kitcheners. Have completed the Tuesday ironing task. About to enjoy a cheese and Marmite sandwich and two large mugs of coffee.

Marmight Naturally, I do not need to wear a size 16...am convinced that they feel more comfortable. wink Have yourselves a swell time. Lots of blethering and laughter are on the agenda.

Marelli "Twinkle Toes" You have a certain way with words. grin

number it never ceases to amaze me that some females choose to wear the dreaded thong. I assume that the garment (such as it is) is consider sexy. Me, I'm a comfort-lover. Hey ho...as bags would say.

Lona and anno It is a super day in bonnie Kintyre. Campbeltown, just 24 miles away, has had a deluge this morning. I'm wondering, are we next?

Hello janeainsworth, I'm pleased that you visited the kitchen. Was it you who washed the pile of dishes and swept up the crumbs and took the empties to the recycling bank? If so, do call again soon.smile

Agus Tue 03-Jun-14 15:12:13

After a dreich start to the day it is now a beautiful sunny afternoon. Definitely lifts the spirits.

A few sore heads today no doubt after knocking back the champers whereby all inhibitions flew out the window and we got down to the important matter of discussing our knickers grin. I ocassionally take away a load of DDs washing to help her out. When DH saw her thongs hanging on the line he asked me "what in God's name is that"? He now refers to them as her string drawers!

Bobby's portrait is now framed and awaiting collection Soop. Can't wait to hang it on the wall and will send a pic once it's hung.

Hope you are feeling a bit more upbeat today Nellie

dustyangel Tue 03-Jun-14 15:13:59

Just popped in to say thank you soop.
Why didn't I think of Googling? I seem to use it for everything else. hmm I think the best thing to do is take them back to the opticians. They will know whether the specs are worth recycling. smile

mcem Tue 03-Jun-14 15:21:54

I don't visit as often as I'd like to but ooohhh I need a wee break!
DD was admitted ( again ) to hospital on Friday afternoon so I've had DGD (3) and DGS (5) since then. Dropped them at nursery at 1 and headed home via shops, to put my feet up until DS ( uncle) fetches them back.
Same old problems have hospitalised her again and don't know how long it will take. Dad (her ex) is working away and other GPs on a long-planned holiday. DS goes off on holiday on Saturday and DD2 has just started her new job and is committed to long hours right now.

Agus Tue 03-Jun-14 19:58:44

Sorry to hear your DD has been hospitalised again mcem but it sounds as if you will be in need of a few wee breaks and where better to have a vent and a blether now and again.

I'm sure we all love our GCs to bits but have to honestly admit they can be exhausting especially at the age of your two.

Just try to go,with the flow and make the most of any spare time to have a rest and look after yourself flowers

I'm assuming they are in bed now so feet up and wine/brew time.

Galen Tue 03-Jun-14 21:02:07

Knackered.
Spent the day packing. I can only do it bit by bit, then rest.
Just the pearls to pack now!

Galen Tue 03-Jun-14 21:07:45

Packed drugs, dresses, bras, pants, swimming costume, make up, shoes, toothbrush and paste, hairbrush and comb even remembered my nighties.
I must have forgotten somethinghmm
What is it?
