*Soop's kitcheners*

Well, what a start to my day! Unexpected arrival of DD and GSs minus their daddy, apparently unable to lock or unlock their own front door on leaving the house to go shopping. DD in bits 'cos SiL blamed her. Hugs and coffee administered then daddy phoned her needing GS1 to climb up a ladder and crawl through tiny bathroom window to let them back in to solve the problem. He's five!!! Littlest was left with me and I spent the next ten minutes visualising GS falling off the ladder/into the bath/being trapped in the house. Well, what a hero! He was apparently like a rat up a drainpipe (daddy right behind him) and through the window and out in no time. Problem? Daddy had left his keys in the door inside and slammed it. One very smug daughter!! And very hyper grandson who now thinks he's on a par with Spider-Man. I'm exhausted.

Just surfacing briefly from time with my 3 girls to wish belated happy birthdays to Lona and When. Also sending to Bella & McS and welcome to Crafting. Off to Windsor today if we can all get ready before tea time and tomorrow the girls and I are having a spa day at Cliveden, pack up on monday and then to Heathrow on tuesday to wave off DD and DgD on their long journey back to Sydney .

How's MacSporran this morning soop? Hope he's feeling considerably better after the rotten week he's had.

MacSporran is once again showing small [but significant] signs of progress. I cannot tell you how awful the rash, now at it's zenith, looks. Poor love, it has spread over all his under-parts, and sitting for any length of time is painful. He doesn't complain. He's such a good man. I bought dark choc Magnum ice cream for this afternoon's tennis match from Queens. A treat that he will enjoy.

I spoke to my youngest son last night. Apparently one of the wings on his paragliding thingy had picked up a small rock. As he took off...way up in the Alps, the thingy started to drag him over to one side. He aimed for a tall tree top on a steep slope and landed atop with his guide-lines all over the place and his leg hooked over a branch. Thankfully, help was summoned and a helicopter landed, leaving a fireman with crampons to climb the 30' pine tree, unravel the guide-lines and place a harness around him so that he abseiled [at speed] to the ground. He was extremely grateful to the men who saved him from a very tricky situation.

I cannot tell you how pleased I am that you have noticed signs of improvement, even if its small ones. The rash must be awful for him, brave man. Enjoy the Tennis.

Good heavens, soop sounds like your son had a bit of a lucky escape there! Don't think I'll try paragliding after all.... Glad to hear that the invalid is showing some improvement, enjoy the tennis.

Dragonfly, what a great little lad you have there. My DS once did the same trick of leaving the keys in the door, inside. However, he managed to get up through a trapdoor in the garage himself. I don't doubt that either of the boys would have enjoyed the challenge of the bathroom window!
Soop, I'm so sorry to hear that McS's rash is still so horrible. I read your post as saying 'it has spread all over his under-pants' . I really must get my eyes checked again soon. Meanwhile enjoy the tennis. I have it on now. It's very warm and sunny outside but the pollen has gone straight to my throat and I can hardly speak. Love to both x x x

soop I am delighted to hear that there is some improvement, although miniscule. He has been through the hoops recently. Your son was extremely lucky to land in a tree and be rescued successfully.

Thanks for your welcome messages. Off to a bit of a late start this morning. Had a really bad cough for a few days so took a couple of my DHs codeine tablets last night and was out like a light until 11.30 this morning! Hope MacSporran enjoys his Magnum Soop. Sounds as though he's had a lot to put up with recently.

Hope you have a good time at Cliveden tomorrow Marmight. It's really lovely there.

Good news Soop. Go on, have another magnum. My favourite is the almond one but tonight I will be having a taste of crunchie ice lollies. Frozen milk chocolate covered crunchie on a stick. Mmmm.

We have been so very lucky with weather it has just been wall to wall sunshine, super-duper.

Glad to hear that MacSporran is showing some signs of improvement, if only small, at least it`s going in the right direction. We`ve had buttered scones for supper and there are some left over, can any kitcheners make use of them?
