On my own for Easter

Is anyone else on their own this Easter? I've never spent Easter alone. Since DH died I've had the girls around, and last year, the first without DD1, I spent Easter Sunday with DD2 and the GC. Today they're flying off on a much deserved holiday, and as well as being consumed by anxiety about them travelling, I'm feeling very sad that I'll be alone. I know, I'm a wimp. tbusad

Well, today wasn't too bad after all. I've kept myself busy, and have just returned from dinner with the lovely couple who live over the road. Gorgeous lamb roast, delightful company; life goes on, doesn't it? Hope you've all enjoyed your day, and hugs to any Granspals who've been on their own today, for whatever reason.

Glad you have had a good day dragonfly. I have coped! - and we have had a good time. On the whole the children have been good - chaotic, but good. They are all fed and watered now and some are even in bed!!! - maybe not asleep.

Hope you have all had a good day in your different ways.

Oh well done, Mishap, bet you're shattered now. I used to love having all the family here but you're right, it is hard work. And yes, I'd give anything to have that option again, but life does go on, and I just count the blessings I still have. Including having someone cook dinner for me today! Have a peaceful evening. X

Oh, and a lovely long email from DD in Turkey just came through, so I'm content.

I live on my own ,I have 2 sons in Leicester(about 10 miles away)but they have their own families.I usually go out on my scooter every day for a coffee etc but yesterday everywhere was closed,so that was a lonely day
Luckily a few places were open today
The alternative is much worse at 85

That's true Roderick and we sometimes have to just get on with it, but sorry to hear you were alone today. Sons are not as thoughtful as daughters once they have their own families, it's a simple fact of life.
The weather hasn't been great either, a lot of storms about this week-end and some huge hailstones today.Easter over now, and things get back to normal for everyone. smile
