Reading everyone else's stories on the subject, I have my own personal sorry tale to tell.
We were just married and went to stay with my sister and her husband, who were going through a bit of a problematic time. They put us in a different room from usual, they had a beautiful old barn and the main window in this room was way up in the ceiling. It was hot, they had left it open, and the room had filled with midges. DBH was anxious about bites even with insect repellent on, so when we went to bed he just couldn't sleep, as he was being dive-bombed. So he said.
So I gave up, read on a chair and let him leap about on the bed flipping at them with a towel for almost an hour until he was so exhausted that he didn't care any more.
The next morning, DS and BiL weren't talking to us. It was half a day before I managed to work out what they thought we had been doing... My how we all laughed...
It took me even longer to work out that they were jealous!

I didn't know what to say! I just said, I had thought it was someone breaking in!
