DGS (2.5) is wide awake, I'm staying at their's and mummy has now left for the early shift. So nannie has to be awake too.
I shall be a wreck by 3pm.
Someone needs to go back to Junior School himself.
Can't sleep - won't sleep - anyone else awake?

DGS has now fallen asleep in the middle of the lounge floor. Ah well, only an hour until I have to get his brother up for school. The joys of being a nannie
Ninathenana I looked in a bit before 04:20 and nobody was around. I had to have a pain killer so I could not feel my back complaining. It's grumbled on all day but when its keeping you awake its really miserable.
I know the feeling. I am often up in the wee small hours taking painkillers for my hip pain. Also I'm one of those unfortunate people who, due to the menopause, suffer from bouts of insomnia. I never think to look at the computer at that time of night though.
This thread was dormant - obviously finally went to sleep! Perhaps now is a good time to wake it up! I'm still awake, and will possibly be back here in the wee
small hours of the night.....I get the feeling I won't be the only one
I'm still up tonight, maybe on my own?
I altered my phone package earlier and went on live chat with a woman helping me to sort it out. She kept sending me links and they are all still open for me to read, so might be here a while!
Im always around. While you sleep! It's just 7:26 pm. In my world.
We don`t see you about all that often nowadays Envious, which is a pity. Unless I`m reading the wrong threads and missing you? I hope you and yours are keeping well. I`m quite often around in the wee small hours, but not always on here, usually ironing.
Evening all!
Last night I think I must have actually had at least four hours sleep. Sleep has become my own holy grail.
My sleeping patterns have changed drastically, going a full circle from when I were a young'un and spent Friday night, Saturday night partying, with hardly any sleep between, to now I'm an old'un and spend every night, from Monday to Sunday still with hardly any sleep in between - the only difference is that now there's no night long parties to break the week up - a mug of cocoa and a good book don't really cut the ice!!
Nothing wrong with that boheminan I've had my hot chocolate too today. Still up again tonight, just checked on the state of the Royal baby but no news yet. I've put my mural up today, looks great but needed a sleep after it as it drained me somewhat.
Good morning*rubylady*. Well, that's maybe one tip to help in the allusive sleep - potter around at 1.00am putting up murals! I went to bed around 11.00pm last night and was woken around 3.00pm by the noise of the book I was reading falling onto the floor - the light was still on and my glasses had slipped down to my chin - so I presume I must have slept!
I wasn't up at 1 am putting up my mural, lol, I had done it in the afternoon and had had a sleep around 6 pm for a couple of hours. I can't manage to stay awake all day due to health. It took me longer than it would have done a while ago to put up some wallpaper, but never mind, it got done eventually.
You must have dropped off but annoying that your book fell to the floor and woke you up. I tuck mine under my pillow but then it can take a while to get to sleep and the other night I had to get back up. I hope that you are able to get some sleep tonight as it gets annoying to keep trying and not being able to rest properly.
That's me almost every night sleep for an hour to 2hrs woken with knees aching twinning pain shoulder, back, neck tossing turning ,no need to excersise during the day it's all been done During the night lol not funny really cos I'm dog tired bye early afternoon. Not good is it so I know how you feel.
Ohhh I know exactly what you mean I feel a bit better now I'm not alone it got to the point that I thought their was something wrong with me lol But it's no joke is it....I would give anything just to have some quality sleep I've tried Herbal drinks Cammomile, hot choc,Horlicks Yuk... lavender on the pillow, Nytol, hot milk, now I found a new way which does help sometimes ....Classical music on my radio very low volume. Goodnight hope you sleep tight too.
Good morning - well not so good really as it's cold, grey and miserable
.
Dsim1948 did you manage to get some sleep with the Classic music whispering in the background?
I had a good sleep last night BUT only as I was so tired from a run of nights not sleeping too well that I eventually went off with exhaustion. Like you Dsim1948 I've tried just about everything to help me to go off at nights, nothing seems to work and I won't go down the road of prescribed drugs again - once I was prescribed Zopiclon (probably not spelled right but I know what I mean!) and had technicolour dreams whilst on them - bit like living in perpetual Disney World - which was okay until it came to the Wicked Witch in Snow White! Now my sleeping pattern's changed and I can go to bed at around 4.00am and sleep until 10.00am, which puts the day into kilter but at least am getting some precious sleep..
I get a feeling it's going to be 'one of THOSE nights' tonight
, coming up for 11.30pm, and in my head it feels like 11.30am. Most be something to do with all the extra flying I've done over the last couple of days - all the way to Cornwall and back on a broken broomstick!
I was woken up by a phone call far too early this morning,so nodded off this afternoon..result is I'm still awake and trying to do some tidying up in the pooter room. Did have a cup of 'proper' tea earlier tonight so that wouldn't help my sleep pattern [whatever my sleep pattern is these days
]...
DH is snoring (again) so I've come into the spare room..(again)! I do quite like it here, actually (does that make me an awful person, I wonder?
Marelli Oh, you wicked woman! get thee to a nunnery
. Well, come to think of it, you'd be better off in the spare room
I'm still up and doing my rounds of what I've commented on recently, bad memory!
I don't have a spare room but then I don't have a DH neither.
Marelli, I`d be quite disconcerted if my hubby decided to sleep in our bedroom again, he`s been on his own in the spare bedroom for about 20 months, since his first op, and I quite enjoy having the king size bed to myself now, so if you`re an awful person, that makes 2 of us!
Seconded [S.O. is at his own house a few hundred yards down the road
]....or is that thirded....
There's something nice about having the double bed all to yourself! Lots of room to spread books and chocolate around, swap sides all night, dangle feet out where you want to and last but not least no one to climb across if you need to get up in the middle of the night for a wee
Ah, I didn't say I didn't share the bed, just not with a DH. I have my little doggie, soft toys, doggie blanket, and a cushion. I do love having the bed on my own so it were though and used to enjoy it when married when my ex used to get up and go to work and I had a day off. Mmmm... lovely and warm and lots of space...but I was thinner then!
Hi rubylady just read your thread about 'No Offence'. I don't have a telly, so didn't watch it, but reading the reviews it sounds just like my sort of stuff. Will have a look later, thanks for mention of it.
