Not in the least corny soop. GDs and their cat are here for the weekend and it is bliss to escape to your kitchen for a 10 min. breather or anytime for a blether with the Granspals in tranquil surroundings.

Good afternoon to you, Agus. Isn't it lovely that you granddaughters are accompanied by their cat. It a very blustery day in bonnie Kintyre. Our cat is stretched out in front of the fire. He was terrified of the fire when he first adopted us. As soon as he saw the log basket being prepared, he was off in a flash. My goodness, that cat has had to scale a very steep learning curve since coming in from the wild wood.

I have the house to myself as DH and Ds1 have gone to the match again but I thought I would pop in for a lovely

I love GN too soop in all its forms but particularly in here. It really is a friendly place tobe. We are away from Monday to Thursday next week but I will try to transport myself back here periodically. We are swapping virtual sea for real sea, which I hope will be really wild. I do love watching wild sea.

soop I know how Rory feels. My last cat Charley nearly did a backward flip when he heard a kettle boil and then click off. The sound of the doorbell sent him upstairs for hours and if a friend came, he stayed upstairs until that person (s) left.

Slowly he got used to normal household noises like my f/f humming and my washing machine or dishwasher working. I dread to think how he was looked after or not previously.

If a train ran through a room, Tara would just open an eye, provided that I was close by.

Charleygirl Rory was afraid of everything when he first came into the house. He would shadow me from room to room. Every sound seemed to startle him. He growled at the postman and our very good friend was nervous of coming into the house. Of course, all that has changed...with one exception - the vacuum cleaner. He scuttles away and hides under the computer desk until the coast is clear.

It's been a happy day in spite of Scotland being beaten [fairly] by Ireland in the Six Nations. Hey ho! as my pal bags would say. Anyone seen bags today? My bet is that she's shooting arrows.

It's time for me to close down the computer. Six o'clock G&T to prepare for. Cats fed. Fire inviting. Tartan rug at the ready to drape over my permanently chilly feet.

Went to Glasgow today to hear Rachel Newton playing her own "Changeling"compositions on harp and viola, and singing, with Corrina Hewat (harp and voice), Lauren MacColl (fiddle), Su-a Lee (cello), Mattie Foulds (percussion), and Adam Holmes (voice). Great stuff at the Mitchell Library.

Six Nations game Scotland v Ireland was slightly depressing because my team lost. However, later in the evening, our Andy played a brilliant match and helped the Brits to win over the American team. My goodness, it was a blistering match. A joyful conclusion.

It's a grey, damp, blustery day in bonnie Kintyre. I've domestic jobs to attend to but very little "get-up-and-go" Rory appears to agree with me. MacSporran has a scan in Campbeltown hospital tomorrow. I am not fearful but cannot help but be unsettled.

It's a fact that, doing something useful is good for the spirit. Ironing board ready.

Has anybody got 27 across in the Telegraph crossword? It's driving me bonkers. It's the first time I've tried it for a few years and have only two to get. That one and26 down which I think should be twin. But that doesn't fit with my answer for 29 a cross. Help!

Yes, good luck for tomorrow McSporran. We have lovely weather here in NW London at present. Blue sky, sunshine but very cold. Anything is better than rain, this is our third dry day. I appreciate the sunshine because that heats the water through the solar panels.

I have been having a paper and magazine throw out day and of course as I throw stuff out more rubbish comes through the letterbox. Our postman is also obviously paid to deliver junk mail.

Tara is resting her eyes. I have turned the heating off as it was too warm but no doubt she will inform me when she would like it switched on again.

I've just had my eyebrows threaded in Superdrug, such a sweet girl doing it, and she did a good job. Then she said "Would you like your top lip threading?"............meaning 'it needs doing'
