I am still in PJs and fleecy dressing gown. Is any one at Soops up yet? It seems like just Rory thinking I might be good for getting him him breakfast. I dare not hang around long in this well stocked kitchen I am on a low calorie day today.

It's a bright, chilly day. Lovely sky. We've had a walk through the village...met a very dear man who always stops to tell us a "good story"...his opening words are - I'll tell you the short of it...he then seems to take forever to reach the point. My feet were so cold but I didn't want to be rude and say...for goodness sake, do hurry up!

We go to Campbeltown this afternoon. At least the weather is behaving better. The entire route from here to there is beautiful. The road running beside the sea shore for much of the way.

Does anybody like coffee and walnut cake? I had so many walnuts last autumn and I am using up the ones I froze. It's just cooled enough for the icing to set.

I had a slice of similar much earlier when I was out for a coffee but a second slice would not go amiss, especially as this one is calorie free- very important because I have overindulged.

Guaranteed not a calorie in it! Enjoy.

I was going to bring along some flapjack I'd made with muesli. It turned out to be very sticky and when I tried a piece it removed a filling and, I think, a piece of tooth. So out of respect for your teeth, I am leaving it at home.

Good morning to you lovely lot...sorry, for such a late start. Hair wash day for me. Takes an age to de-tangle and all that business. Now I'm ready for coffee and a slice of the that delicious cake.

First things first - dear MacSporran is feeling much chirpier since the scan went well and "nothing amiss" was the comment he came away with. Yesterday's procedure was to detect kidney stones, so that's the second procedure over and done with. Tomorrow's [in Glasgow] will be more in-depth and involves taking a close look at the urinary tract and bladder lining. We're both feeling a lot more optimistic.

I'm meeting bags whilst I wait for MacSporran at the hospital. She's very good company

After yesterday's scan, we called in to see our pal's new addition to the family...a wee Pomeranian [just two months old]...and a great deal of "ooing, ahhing and awing" resulted. She had been across to Islay on the ferry to collect him. She has always kept this particular breed. The oldest died recently, leaving another feeling lonesome. Lachlan [the pup] was having a great time clambering all over Fergus and nipping his ears and tail. It was a joy to watch the older dog being so patient with the wee rascal.

Lona Threading looks awfully tricky to me. The results looked good. Is it very costly?

soop I have my eyebrows threaded regularly and it cost me £3-£5 depending on where I go. Normally it is £3 and that is in the suburbs of London.

Thank you, Charleygirl I doubt that I shall ever have my eyebrows threaded. I've plucked other peoples eyebrows. Mine are sparse, so I leave them alone.

Nothing amiss is always good news to hear and hope you both hear the same again tomorrow. Pleased to hear bags will be there for company and no doubt lots of blethering will be in order

I've been laid low since yesterday morning with a D & V bug. Completely wiped out and only just able to sit up without dashing to the bathroom. Thankfully what little energy I have at the moment allows me to type propped up in bed. I'm a rubbish patient and would much rather be on the other side of the fence but DH is very capable and I have been warned to do as I am told for a change!

Agus I'm with MrA...stay put, rest, keep warm and do as you're told. You know it makes sense. And I hope that you will recover before too long.

I'm logging off now. Cannot call in to have a blether with my Granspals tomorrow. It's going to be a busy day. I shall return on Friday. Plenty of time for stocking the cupboard with all manner of goodies. We seem to be running a bit low. I've left MacSporran's striped pinafore for anyone who enjoys baking. For those who aren't in the mood, the chaise longue has been positioned by the window.
