Here is a new issue of my favourite thread. And I 've spelled it correctly this time!

Today started off so bright and sunny. As I said somewhere else, Theseus was off on his bike, clocking up the miles in training for triathlons (triathloi??) later in the year.

DGS (15) came round to use my scales because the machines at his gym as his weight. He is SO innocent (or daft) and had put in 80k. Turns out it is 50, bless him. He is on a big growth spurt upwards, without the outwards expansion. (reverse of his Nannie!)

Lovely, restful day before a busy week.

Worrying, its been one of those weeks with lots of family 'stuff' going on, I seem to of lurched from one crisis to another trying to calm, reason, commiserate and pacify one after another family member...

I wish I could fly away sometimes , but what would they do without me?

Slapped a colour on my hair in preparation for Tuesdays interviews. It's a tad dark, but it was one that was lurking at the back of the bathroom cupboard, so seemed preferable to buying a new one. Also tackled eyebrows, with limited success. Glasses off, grasp tweezers and magnifying mirror. Pluck. Glasses back on and study effect in ordinary mirror. Repeat as necessary. grin

Will also set to with the dreaded hair removal cream blush

You will look great! Hope all goes well. x

Shall we go back to "TOady"? Thought it was dead!

GNHQ can you transfer this to that? If you see what I mean...

dustyangel Sun 12-Jan-14 18:07:50

See my post on the other thread, I took so long doing it that I missed this one!

Anne58 Sun 12-Jan-14 19:25:18

Thanks Ariadne !

BTW, I thought the previous one was "Toadyl" which sounded like medication for amphibians.

I have also been logging on to my on-line course to see if my tutor has marked the unit that I submitted on 3rd Jan.

I soooo want it to get a pass first time, with no re-subs! (On the previous one I had to re-submit, but it was only on 1 question of 30, so I was not too miffed)

...Upset. My youngest son has had a very difficult few months following the break up of a long term relationship and I expect he was dreading Valentine's Day. Had a call from him at 7.30 this morning to say he's been burgled! He disturbed the burglar before he could get away with too much (son not insured), but is very shaken. sadshock

Was going away for the weekend this afternoon, but changed plans to go and give son a bit of moral support - he's gone into university this morning, but I'll bet he won't sleep a wink tonight. Awful weather to drive in.

I like this thread - good idea to revive it Ariadne.
I have been unpacking my suitcases, sorting out the washing, booked flights to Italy for September, delivered a huge bag of baby clothes brought back from DD in Oz to her friend who has just had TRIPLETS shock, jiggled aforementioned babies on my lap and made appropriate noises about their cuddlinesss, visited the optician to order some new specs and sunglasses (ready for my next trip to OZ!), helped a friend who runs a restaurant pick off the price labels from 2 dozen single roses so they can be given to the diners tonight and now home starving as I am on the 2:5 diet today and haven't eaten since last night..............

Gally Fri 14-Feb-14 12:59:42

GA shock

celebgran Fri 14-Feb-14 13:17:38

Oh poor son Phoenix ! Hope things pick up for him.

Lona Fri 14-Feb-14 13:49:18

Grannya that's such a shame, being burgled is hard on the nerves. I'm sure he will appreciate a hug from his mum flowers

Marelli Fri 14-Feb-14 14:12:44

Agus Fri 14-Feb-14 14:25:02

Marelli Wonderful news. How romantic! Why haven't we got a Heart emoticon today?

Marelli Fri 14-Feb-14 15:51:25

boheminan Fri 14-Feb-14 16:03:04

Today I have been mainly...trying to keep warm. I daren't have the heating on because the bill's are too horrendous, so I've restricted my life to staying in one room with 12 lit candles for warmth, wearing four wooly jumpers, a wooly hat and two pairs of gloves (which makes for rather muffled typing). The window's covered with a blanket and drinking mugs of hot soup helps maintain warmth inside. Oh, the joys of winter for us silver surfershmm

Today I have been trying to reclaim my house. DD and her boys (4 and 6 mths) have been here for nearly 8 weeks and although I have thoroughly enjoyed their visit I really do need to shift some dust ! I have also enjoyed not having an early morning call from one of them and looking forward to catching up with you all - my forays into Gransnet have been sporadic and brief in the last 2 months.
