I thought that we had already reached the 1000 messages. Maybe we haven't. Anyway...for when we do, here's the new extension. I'm making it warm and cosy and there are date slices to be enjoyed. Rory has claimed his corner of the sofa. wink

The sea is a beautiful shade of teal green. It's blustery but not blowing a gale. We lost power for about two hours yesterday afternoon. Ironing needs attending to. Best do it while I can. A little late morning therapy. smile

Sorry you lost power soop but thank you so much for that verbal painting of the sea, it has brought sunshine into my day.

Hello all, it seems ages since I was in the kitchen [of course that's a lie as the reason I haven't been in this kitchen is because I've spent too much time in my own kitchen!]

Anyway, I'd like a piece of that lovely looking black bun and nice cup of tea. Would anyone else like one?

I've come in because DH's phone has been ringing like nobody's business this morning and I thought I was coping until I asked a little old lady whether she had any medical conditions we should know about and she said, 'Well, I am a christian.' confused

Can I just go in a dark corner and relax, please? brew

kitty That little old lady has made me chuckle. Very funny. grin So, you like black bun. I must try to buy some when we visit Oban tomorrow.

LizG Have finished the ironing and polished the furniture. Washed my hair. Trimmed my finger/toe nails. Helped MacSporran to complete the weekend crossword and am about to prepare the supper dishes for Rory and his family [who may, or may not put in an appearance].

Take care of each other. I cannot join you tomorrow but I shall do so on Wednesday. smile

Good morning to you all. It's sunny and chilly in bonnie Kintyre. I hope that you have all managed to stay safe and cosy.

MacSporran had to undergo a hospital procedure yesterday...so we set off early for Oban. I'm happy to tell you that the result of said procedure was not as we feared. In fact, he has a condition that can be regulated by a change of diet. Mind you, his diet is, on the whole, quite satisfactory, although, unlike me, he won't eat wholegrain bread. By the time we got home, it was late. We celebrated with a wee dram and a hearty supper. We both slept soundly. grin

The lost property office in the hospital had no wedding ring lurking in the safe. I've promised MacSporran a new one. I met one of the ladies who cleans the wards. She was great fun during my hospital stay. We had a long chat and she said that the ward isn't the same without you ...which made me chuckle. Perhaps I should book a bed and have a slot for patient fun time.

I have a plate full of date slices to share. The coffee is freshly made. The cushions are plumped. A big hug to all my Granspals. smile

I used to like Lorraine. She must be knocking on a bit now. I'm sure I used to watch her when son was tiny.

Ana Wed 08-Jan-14 17:18:19

Surely not...she's only 54!!! shock

annsixty Wed 08-Jan-14 17:43:47

And I think she only has a daughter.

Oldgreymare Thu 09-Jan-14 00:15:30

Phoenix hugs from me too.
Soop your lovely son won't get a word in edgeways. Lorraine has a happy knack of both posing AND answering the same question. I gave up watching her yonks ago but will look out for your DS tomorrow /today it's past the witching hour!

LizG Thu 09-Jan-14 00:35:54

(((hugs))) phoenix flowers

Just popped in to, metaphorically, stoke up the Aga while you are all sleeping and to catch up on the goss. Good to have some peace. My DD's tribe are feral ( her description) and just occasionally, I can bear it no more. Thinking of applying the ear plugs I got on the plane! I love being with them and I know that in 4 weeks I will be home alone again and wishing I could hear them arguing and biffing each other and complaining about the menu on offer and refusing to get in the shower/go to bed/get up/tidy their rooms......... DD is planning a visit home in June with just the youngest before she turns 2 which will be lovely.
soop I wish I could watch Lorraine and your DS. Sadly can't get it over here nor iPlayer. You will be a VPM wink (nothing to do with undergarments!)
Phoenix flowers
Bags hope your tootsie will be more comfortable soon.
Oh well, back to the battle ground - sorry, I took the last date slice, it was yummy.

NfkDumpling Thu 09-Jan-14 07:30:52

Phoenix (((hugs))) flowers.
