Good afternoon dear Granspals...'though it is rather grey and murky outside.
I am well and truly cream crackered. Like OGM the wee elderly dog kept me awake for most of the night. He's a sweetie, but since his pal of many years drowned in the fish pond, he's feeling lonesome and needs bags of reassurance in his owners' absence.
I am very fond of my own bed. The moment my head hits the pillow, I'm away in slumberland. Not last night though...a strange bed in a strange house [with it's various creaks and sighs] and the company of a woolly coated dog who insisted on lying across me [or else] and snoring like an underground train rushing through a tunnel, made sleep nigh on impossible. Every time I needed a wee, the dog accompanied me. Because his joints are old he then took an age to settle down in a comfortable position when back on the bed. All manoeuvres, including mine, done with much huffing and puffing. He did ask for a drink...and yes, he did sip water from his own wide-lipped tumbler! I had a very small, inexpensive radio with me. It worked if I held it...otherwise, it crackled and popped alarmingly. At one point, in the early hours, the dialogue changed from English to the Gaelic language. As it was the only working channel, I stuck with it...and understood just one word - agus [and!]
This morning the wee dog lay at my feet, on his blanket, during an extended session of ironing. If I moved to hang a garment on the rail, he accompanied me. He's missing his family and I wish to goodness that I could make him understand that, on Wednesday evening, they will be home again...and all will be well.
Mr soop joined me at breakfast time. We return to care for the wee dog later this afternoon. One more night of restlessness to live through. All in a good course.
Now for a delicious cup of coffee and a Dr Largs multi-seeded biscuit, topped with tuna fillets in olive oil. Followed by a crunchy Cox's apple.
Am I just being impatient and mean? New PM
that should read Dr Karg's multi-seeded biscuit.

. I only have 2 rooms left to clean, the rubbish to take to the tip, the packing, the writing of lists for my house sitter and then the last minute washing and bed making so instead of being busy I am, this afternoon, driving an 'elderly' friend to her dentist 40 miles away as she is unable to drive in the dark. I know I will return home and sit down and do b*****r all for the rest of the day. Oh well, c'est la vie.
