on Sunday, then I believe it will show that this country has lost any small semblance of moral decency it was holding onto. And that the heads of a national institution have let all thoughts of ethical reasoning go out of the window in favour of political correctness.
I can only hope that it doesn't make number one.
But, my God, this country has sunk to an all-time low.
As I said Greatnan and tegan at least.....but hey if it pleases you to take a pop at me so be it. Not like you to miss an opportunity. I don't actually need to Google limpid prose such as "get real" - just wondered what was "unreal" about my opinion.
Nonu - I am not "dissing" (now that REALLY isn't a word) anybody but do keep up - the name is Gracesmum. I think it used to be Cheelu who tended to get it wrong. One of those coincidences, I suppose.
I love all these words , must be the influence of the States .
I am there 10 weeks out of the year .
In fact this day next month will be touching down in Colorado, then on to Wyoming , Montana , North and south Dakota , Nebraska , then big swing back to Colorado , about 4,000 to 5,000 miles , what an adventure .
Oh I might have guessed - have a look in the Oxford English Dictionary. Disrespect : noun; a lack of courtesy, discourtesy.
It is NOT a verb and NEVER has been despite its use by the likes of Catherine Tait (remember that she was playing a comedy character) or kids on "da street" This is getting very tedious.
In response to a silly song, the original post states the country is "losing any semblance of moral decency".
Some people on Gransnet thought that a comment about blowing people up, though probably spoken unthinkingly and in jest, was unfunny and inappropriate, particularly in the light of the bombing in Boston yesterday.
Those who had expressed shock and indignation regarding the song on the radio and who subsequently criticised others for having a different point of view, now rush to defend the "bombing" remark.
It is perhaps unwise to claim the moral high ground and subsequently make, or support, jokes about bombing people. But I think people should only express regret of their own volition and only if they actually feel regret.
