I'm still not sure if I'll be seeing my grandchildren on Christmas day and we're not taking the eldest to a pantomime this year as 'his dad wants to take him', although not sure if that's going to happen [we had a wonderful time last year at the panto; oh yes we did]. And there's no mention of me going to any school productions either
. But, it's a weird Christmas anyway because I only get Christmas Day and Boxing Day off and then it's work as usual [and Boxing Day will fall on my day off anyway so, in effect I'll only have one day off]. Strange Christmas all round, really. Although I have been invited to [strangely enough] a birthday party for a one year old on Christmas Day itself which I might go to. I think I'll be relieved when Christmas is over, if I'm honest.

What "back then" inconvenience would annoy today's youngsters?
