Just been listening to our Cari on my local radio station smile

wotsamashedupjingl Wed 21-Mar-12 11:18:36

Was it a BBC local radio, Glass? Wonder if it will be on listen again later on.

glassortwo Wed 21-Mar-12 11:29:00

Wishing I could get on with stuff outside (lovely sunny day! sunshine) but feeling frustrated because my facet joints are playing silly buggers again and I need to let them recover a little at least for the Cubby weekend ahead. HOWEVER, the postie has just been. You know I said I'd pointed DH at my favourite Sheila Fleet Mill Sand brooch?  Well, he's gone and got me it and the Scapa Flow one and the Mill Sand pendant! shock grin flowers sunshine

Perhaps I'll just get my vit D via a ladylike hunched stagger saunter round the garden in my wellies jewellery instead of in company with a spade....

smile

nanachrissy Thu 22-Mar-12 16:01:22

glammanana Thu 22-Mar-12 19:00:58

harrigran Thu 22-Mar-12 19:28:21

Been at my other home for a couple of days. Lakes bathed in sunshine today. Saw Geraldine on sky news this morning.

Annobel Thu 22-Mar-12 19:34:37

I've had my advisory hat on today at the CAB. Rushed home in case the plumber could fit in a quick visit to fix my leaking radiator. No such luck. Hope he will arrive tomorrow. I am having to keep the heating off as the leakage has reduced the pressure in my boiler. Fleeces and cosy slippers instead.

nanachrissy Thu 22-Mar-12 19:37:15

At least the weather is nice Annobel

kittylester Thu 22-Mar-12 21:06:12

Spent the day shivering in the lovely Hippodrome Theatre in Birmingham. I know the sun came out but putting the airconditioning on was a step too far! We went to see Oliver, with Neil Morrisey playing Fagin, and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had lunch and dinner out then.......came home to complete chaos!

Middle daughter's house purchase has gone a bit haywire. Daughter and her partner had handed in their notice and were, technically, homeless! SO - daughter and 10 month old granddaughter are here, with her partner coming at weekends. I'm SURE they said they were putting their stuff in storage so why can't I find the dining room? confused

Message from supernana: she's on her way to suss out the talent at Ross Hall. Love to all at GN.

Oldgreymare Fri 23-Mar-12 09:43:28

Bagitha following remark driven by envy but I thought you weren't into dropping hints for M/day or any other celebration confused.
The jewels are beautiful ( and evocative).
Lots of love to Supernana altho I do find it easier to cope with 'intimate' examinations if the Dr. is plug ugly!
Once examined (rectally) by a dashing Army doctor, arrogant swine didn't even ask whether I would like a nurse to be in the room!!! Curls up with embarrassment at the memory alone!

Annobel Fri 23-Mar-12 09:54:05

Oh dear, DS1's new garden has proved not sufficiently secure. Fox has got their three chickens which were free-ranging. sad. I knew there were foxes about as I could hear them during the night but I would never say 'I told you so'.

Oldgreymare Fri 23-Mar-12 10:12:16

Oh dear, must be that 'foxy time of year' as I too heard a few yelps in the night. (Unless the ladies fighting over gorgeous George were at it again!)

Carol Fri 23-Mar-12 10:13:22

There are some chubby-looking foxes in this part of the world Annobel. I have a vixen who seems to have cubs tucked away behind my garden, and I saw her dragging a chicken carcass over my fence last weekend, then she nipped back and took a bag with sliced bread in it. The cubs must be having chicken sandwiches!

bagitha Fri 23-Mar-12 10:42:41

OGM, you're right, and in fact I had already dropped the hint about the Sheila Fleet stuff several weeks before Mother's Day (hadn't even remembered there was such a thing at the time), but the hint had fallen on deaf ears because the link I sent DH didn't say it was from me so he deleted it, thinking it was spam. Once I discovered this I disabused him of that idea. It just happened to be a few days before Mother's Day which, of course, we ignored, except that DD1 wished me a happy one on FB and I wished her a happy one back. No different from any other Sunday, really. But yesterday was different from my usual Thursdays! grin

Annobel Fri 23-Mar-12 10:52:43

An expensive morning! I've had new windows fitted at the front of the house - the old ones were very inefficiently double glazed. I got a very good deal on them from the firm that installed my new front door - think they were desperate for custom. What's more, I have my new gardener clearing out my jungle. He says he's seen worse... the mind boggles. It's a lovely day and getting warmer by the minute. Little red leaves are appearing on my two malus trees. Soon there will be red blossom. A white rhododendron is in full bloom, earlier than usual.
