I came home tonight to be greeted by the grump next door, saying his drain was stagnant and smelling! It had to be a blockage on my side!
I ran taps, flushed loo!
All was ok on my side, it wasn't flowing on his! Therefore it must be my fault!
I rang drainage people!they came out!
Guess what?
The fault was on his side!!
Total bill?
£113 which I have paid!
But. Now feel I have the moral high ground in future.
He did offer to pay a contribution, but I said ' you can have it as a birthday present '
I feel he can't be so grumpy to me in future!grin

The wet stuff must be an optical illusion, pompa. You still have a drought down your way. grin

Been travelling home today, this flying thing makes my arms tired. What is all this wet stuff laying around ???.

nanachrissy Your dear Dad might like to remain in the car boot. You can still take him out and about. smile

Lovely to hear you sounding upbeat. Well done!

Thanks all, I'm feeling quite laid back at the moment! It has been peaks and troughs lately, but I'm feeling very positive now and looking forward to a more relaxing life.
I'm missing dad but have got daughter back, so swings and roundabouts in a way. (Not sure that sounds right but you know what I mean! hmm )

Head isn't quite up to scratch yet as I've just remembered that Dad's ashes are still in the car boot! Ooops! (He would have laughed) grin

I have just got back from a really tough two hour walk, rising about 600'. Warm and sunny, forest full of bird song and new leaves, very few bits of snow left in shady spots.
Now I am having a good lunch and settling down to do a jigsaw , watch TV, read and surf.
I had a long telephone chat with my daughter in NZ before I set out, which put me in a very happy mood. She has a French exchange student from the tiny island of New Caledonia and it has made her restart her own French course. We made plans about my moving out there in a few years - it is very exciting.

greenmossgiel Mon 30-Apr-12 19:30:46

Gally- how lovely! flowers You'll know how sore she is - coccyx-wise (!) and the stitches on top of that...oh poor thing! I hope her osteopath can sort things for her, or at least make her more comfortable. In the meantime, you've got lots of cuddling to do! smile xxx

nanachrissy Mon 30-Apr-12 19:14:29

A wonderful time for you and Hamish Gally but not so hot for your poor dd!
Hope she gets sorted soon.

Annobel Mon 30-Apr-12 19:09:57

Just thinking about your daughter's plight makes me reach for a cushion! Here's hoping that the osteopath gets her coccyx in alignment tho' the stitches will just take time - and, if I remember correctly, salt baths? Give wee Hamish a big cuddle. It's a stage that passes all too quickly. wine

soop Mon 30-Apr-12 18:08:37
