Slept much better last night as they had added some anti-anxiety drug to DHs syringe driver so he was not constantly fretting about details that were already under control. Daughter is here and is a great source of strength. She is sitting finishing a garment (undefined) which DGD aged 8 was making for stuffed Bunny. a bit difficult without Bunny present for fittings and given the amorphous nature of the structure,but therspeutic

I've just had chance to catch up with all of this thread.

Love and hugs to both Elegran and nanachrissy - there is not much else to say. Thinking about you both.

Makes my problem with wedding clothes pale into insignificance. Take care both of you.

First time ever I have been up and on Gransnet before any other posters.

Last night DD1 said goodnight to a sleeping father who was breathing very quietly but evenly, and went to bed. I tidied the kitchen, locked up and so on, and 15 minutes after her I too said goodnight to him before lying down on my fold-out bed. He was not breathing any more. A quiet and peaceful end after a day when all the family had been around him. He had been just responsive in the morning but then increasingly remote. RIP.

Calmly and peacefully said, elegran. May you rest too. Well done for looking after him so well. xx
