Thank you all so much for your support and love and messages.

I feel blessed to have spent so much time with my dad over the last few years since my mum died, he has been an inspiration to me.

I also feel blessed to be a part of this network of caring people. Thank you all.

Condolences nanachrissy - sad news

mrshat Wed 18-Apr-12 21:18:27

Elegran - keep strong and accept all the help support offered.

Elegran Wed 18-Apr-12 21:24:30

Another day over. Last night was not as peaceful as I would have liked as DH was very restless and needed my attention every fifteen minutes or so. The District Nurse has told me of a Marie Curie Service where a nurse comes in overnight to sit with the patient and look after him while I get a good night's sleep to be ready to cope with the day. Tomorrow I shall look into it more closely.

Elegran Wed 18-Apr-12 21:28:02

MrsHat Yes i am accepting all the help that is on offer, and there is a lot of it. The only downside is that my house is no longer my own, there seem to be people in and out all day, and night is the only time that we are on our own. But I can't function without sleep.

glassortwo Wed 18-Apr-12 21:33:11

elegran if you get your sleep you can cope, accept any help on offer. flowers

Elegran Wed 18-Apr-12 21:35:16

Thank you, Soop. Gransnet is indeed a net, to catch us when he feel we are falling into the abyss.

nanachrissy I am so sorry about your Dad, I send condolences and (((hugs)))

bagitha Wed 18-Apr-12 21:53:42

Hope tonight is easier for you (and your husband), elegran, and that you can get a Macmillan night nurse. xx

Elegran Wed 18-Apr-12 22:05:38

DD1 flies in at 11 tonight. I don't know whether to stay up to see her or to lie down and sleep and she can let herself in. DH has had an anti-anxiety med added to his pump, so should need less attention tonight that last night so I may get a few hours. On the other hand, DD1 will arrive full of her own anxiety and need to talk..

grannyactivist Wed 18-Apr-12 22:09:07

Sleep while you can and leave a note for your daughter to wake you when she gets in Elegran. Hope tonight is more restful for you and that tomorrow and in the days to come you will find all the support and strength you need. flowers

Elegran Wed 18-Apr-12 22:13:08

I think I will follow that advice, if it is allowed me. Goodnight all and thanks for all your messages of support.

Good morning all - this seems to be the place for idle chat these days.

Yesterday we went to London ExCel to collect our Son's marathon entry stuff. I now realise that exercise is bad for your health, especially your eyesight, Whilst walking around the exhibition, several very fit looking people on the stands ask me if I was running on Sunday ROFL. For those that know me it is pretty obvious that all I could run is a bath.
