Today I've been mainly.......Volume 4

nannachrissy have lost both my parents,mum went 5years ago she just slowly deteriorated over 2years Am sending you lots of hugs,is a time of conflicting emotions

for you nanachrissy, I too remember how hard it was to see my Dad decline, especially as he didn't want to live any longer. However, it was very moving and a privilege to be with him at the very end, quite unreal, but right also, as he had been there at my beginning and I felt it closed the circle. {{hug}}

Thank you all for your kindness, it really does lift my heart.
Had a good sleep last night (took a tablet!) so I feel a bit refreshed. My dad is still laughing and joking with the carers in a rambly exhausted sort of way, and I am so proud of him.

Thankful I can share it with you and you all understand

Good morning nanachrissy. I hope today is kinder to you, after the difficult time you were having yesterday. I remember my dad at this stage, and he had had enough, so just wanted to slip away quietly. He got his wish and was comfortable throughout. It was us, his family, who found it so hard but he had come a long way in his thinking, and of course, we hadn't!

A lovely friend called and has washed and put my hair in rollers. Feel much better for her upbeat personality and a spot of pampering

He was out for the count today, and they are putting him into a higher bed this afternoon, so he will be even more exhausted later.
Despite what the doctor said I can't see him lasting much longer,he is refusing all food now and only having sips of water.
I have to say the carers are really lovely with him especially as it is not a nursing home.
I have been very lucky to have support all round
