Thought about you all day since I caught up with this thread nannachrissy and can only add my love to all the others at this very tough time.

flowers to all of you.xx

District nurse has phoned to say that after seeing him today, the doc, nurse and carers are meeting tomorrow to see him and arrange any emergency care he may need this weekend. They don't want him being sent to hospital by out of hours Gp. (Remember the article in the paper a couple of weeks ago when the out of hours doctor wouldn't turn out to a care home?)

Can't fault the care he is getting.

I will keep talking to you all, it's keeping me sane! shock

jeni Thu 12-Apr-12 19:55:53

[hugs]

I am so touched that you feel he is receiving such tender care, nanac. What could be better at such a time. xx

glassortwo Thu 12-Apr-12 20:28:52

chrissy it must be a comfort to know that your Dad is being given the care he needs where he is comfortable and by staff that care for him {{hugs}}

Exhausting day, had GD1 since last night, for sleepover. DD and SIL arrived at lunchtime then DS and DIL and GD2 arrived at 4pm. I eventually waved them off at 9.15 and have now got some time to myself, first wee I have had all day. grin

nanachrissy Fri 13-Apr-12 08:49:31

Trying to get a quart into a pint pot - ie packing to go to France, layers of stuff as the weather looks changeable. Sister last texted from Sydney airport and should now be en route from Dubai to Paris. A good friend is taking me to Manchester Airport, after a quick lunch. The other day my GD came to Boots with me so that I could stock up on paracetamol (only 32 at a time). As we came out of the shop, she announced in ringing tones: 'That's the last time I buy drugs for you, gran'. Still, she did some hoovering for me.

Annobel Fri 13-Apr-12 09:16:11

OMG, I've just noticed the stuff I ironed last night, some of which still has to be squeezed into my suitcase... shock

bagitha Fri 13-Apr-12 09:25:53

grin Have fun in Paris, anno! Are you there for long?

Aurelia Fri 13-Apr-12 10:45:20

Busy doing the prep for "Titanic the Last Night" dinner. DP's great uncle perished in the disaster, so a bit of family history.

Annobel Fri 13-Apr-12 11:20:11

Thanks all. bags, we'll be in Paris tonight and then in Perpignan for a week, followed by four nights in Paris. Need to go back to Musée d'Orsay and Musée de Cluny. And sister wants to go out to Chartres for a day - a pleasant outing.
Don't worry Chrissy, paracetamol and prednisolone are about as toxic as I get. wink Suitcase now packed and just within its limit.

Carol Fri 13-Apr-12 11:27:23
