Hello everyone - sorry I missed the party for super (and hope you're feeling well today super). I've barely had time to open my laptop for a couple of weeks so I've just spent far too long a little while reading active posts and wondering what I've missed. Having had a week away I now feel really well again which means that I've had the energy to start catching up with all the things I neglected when I was ill. The house has been given a good going over and I've also been catching up with the mountain of paperwork that's been threatening to overwhelm me (does anyone else get swamped by paperwork or is it just me?). I've also managed to meet up with friends and even shoehorned in a couple of days in London to attend a very interesting lecture at King's College. The allotment has been more or less planted up for now and I look forward to enjoying the results later in the summer. So much has happened in my absence that I won't pick out anybody to respond to in particular, but congratulations and commiserations to those who deserve them. sunshine

GA - how many hours are there in your day? You seem to be jet-propelled now. Please don't overdo it. smile

Hope all's well with you, supernana. Been thinking about you - (and I'm sorry I wasn't able to attend your party...)! flowers

I'm outraged - it's raining, just after I've watered in a new bay tree! Tomorrow it might snow. What has happened to our beautiful spring?

Greatnan Mon 02-Apr-12 18:34:41

We have it, Annobel! Another lovely sunny day in the Alps - I really enjoyed climbing a very steep path overlooking a valley and when I got home I felt entitled to eat a lamb chop, cabbage with butter and pepper, and a little ready-made cheese and potato thingy from the supermarket. Two glasses or cheap rose wine too.
I called at the pharmacy and arranged to borrow a folding wheelchair for the week my sister is staying with me, and did a big food shop. It is a good night on TV for me, so altogether a very pleasant day.

Oxon70 Mon 02-Apr-12 18:34:58

What rain? When are we going to get any rain? Have you got it all?
I've been using my hose before the hose ban comes...at least it can start off watered!

jeni Mon 02-Apr-12 18:39:17

Lovely day here!

I've been to my writing group today. We were writing on the subject of 'something unexplained' - amazing how many people seem to have psychic experiences. I was impressed, although I am sure there must be a perfectly rational explanation! Tomorrow two of us are off to a residential creative writing course with U3A.

nanachrissy Mon 02-Apr-12 18:46:10

GA glad you're feeling top notch again!

Been looking after my favourite baby again today, and she made me cry with laughter!
I am now in a comatose state! smile Gosh they get so heavy don't they?

Carol Mon 02-Apr-12 18:46:35

A residential Annobel - that sounds interesting! Anywhere exciting?

Annobel Mon 02-Apr-12 18:52:23

Somewhere in Lancashire.

Carol Mon 02-Apr-12 18:58:08

Annobel Mon 02-Apr-12 19:37:37

nanachrissy envy! I don't think I'll have any more GC. I will have to hold on for the GGC!

I've been away for a couple of weeks, and find it's really surprising how GN moves along.

So........I'm feeling a bit out of it and hope to feel a part of it again and be back in the GN saddle soon. smile

Hello to you all, and to all the new contributors, too! sunshine

Carol Mon 02-Apr-12 19:55:49

Thoroughly enjoyed meeting super and Mr Super in her posh hospital. She was very chirpy and is doing well, though tiring by the end of my visit. I stayed ages! We had such a lot to talk about smile. I was given tea and cake (a yum-yum; Scots will know!) and a sip or two of wine, and Mr Super told me the easy way back to the Erskine Bridge for going home — a much better route than googlemaps suggested. super is missing GN but should be back with us soon and ready to party on her new hip.

Snow is forecast for Scotland and Ben Lomond was invisible already under snow clouds as I drove back north.

There is one thing NHS hospitals do better than private. It seems if super had been in the NHS hospital they would have flown her back to Campbeltown and then it would only have been a short car journey home. From the private hospital Mr Super will have to drive her all the way — three and a half hours. Safe journey super and not too uncomfortable, I hope! xx

Oh, how lovely that you've visited super. I'm pleased to hear she is doing ok smile
