I have just followed a tweet from Grannynet (first time I have been over there) asking if Gransnet are taking product testing too far sending out samples of lubricants. grin Have a look.

I've just been reading that magazine that it links to - "Elderly Times" or something? Quite interesting really! grin

I had a quick look on Grannynet and loved that nannyviolet wrote about the posters on Gransnet at 10.57pm. 'I've finally found it and...dear dear what a bunch of opinionated troublemakers they seem to be! Glad to be here with you lovely ladies!'
Never, the posters at Gransnet are never opinionated troublemakers, surely not! grin

But getting into mischief is one of the joys of being old!
I thought there was more than a hint of prejudice on the thread on gay marriage but there does appear to be a number of members ready to speak against discrimination so I might hold my fire for a while

We are clearly making some progress - a few years ago there would have been no shortage of people willing to state their homophobic views.

Faye did you put her straight - or agree with her? grin

Mishap Sat 10-Mar-12 09:43:11

I quite like grannynet too - but I seem to have offended people there with my post (above). Not sure why. An implied criticism seems to have been assumed from my observation that there there are more overtly religious posters there - clearly not a value judgement, but an observation.

I like both - they complement each other well.

They're on to us! grin

Oh, and they're thick!

"they say this forum is hard to follow , not user friendly .......... well I got to say I find theirs hard to follow , poorly set out"

Flippin' cheek!

Faye Sat 10-Mar-12 10:07:35

I am not a member, I just had a peep. smile

Faye Sat 10-Mar-12 10:09:11

I agree theirs is hard to follow and I don't like forums with senior member and lots of rules either, so it wouldn't be for me.

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 10-Mar-12 10:09:50

Sorry Mishap - hadn't read your post!

[foot in mouth emoticon]

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 10-Mar-12 10:12:45

You Stonehenge lot - get on yer own thread!

Ours is better. [tongue-sticky-out...]

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 10-Mar-12 10:13:42

We've got some infiltrating to do. [important emoticon]

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 10-Mar-12 10:14:31

I'll just have my bath........

harrigran Sat 10-Mar-12 10:52:50

Don't they sound a prissy stuck-up lot hmm

supernana Sat 10-Mar-12 11:30:28

harri...pompous, posturing and picky. angry I like our lot so much better. At least we have a sense of humour and recognise that, no matter how serious a mess this world of ours is in, there is also fun to be had and shared.

jeni Sat 10-Mar-12 11:33:52

Is this the start of turf wars? If so bring on Boudicca and her chariot! Also jing and the rest of her warlike valkyriesgrin

supernana Sat 10-Mar-12 11:38:54

Hang on...I'll look out my helmet [sporting a cheeky feather plucked from a Scots pheasant] and shield [emblazoned with the GN logo]...not forgetting a good pair of boots for trudging across the wilderness in search of the you-know-who. grin

Elegran Sat 10-Mar-12 12:04:56

So Grannynet think we are opinionated troublemakers and Netgrans think we are all affluent middle-class snobs.

Ah well, can't please all of the people all of the time.

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 10-Mar-12 12:11:33

The first step would be to post some innocuous comments, like, "my cosmos are getting a bit big".

And then, once accepted as a 'normal' confused member ..................... !!!! wink

Annobel Sat 10-Mar-12 12:56:09

.....you will become 'an opinionated troublemaker'. grin

absentgrana Sat 10-Mar-12 13:05:19

They seem to be under the impression that Gransnet HQ has been sending lubricants to all Gransnetters willy nilly (as it were). How silly. grin

yogagran Sat 10-Mar-12 13:18:15

Love your choice of words absent grin

I think I'm happy to be thought of as a middle class snob - it could be much worse

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 10-Mar-12 13:18:59

Made a start. grin

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 10-Mar-12 13:19:20

I can't do their emoticons!
