I have just followed a tweet from Grannynet (first time I have been over there) asking if Gransnet are taking product testing too far sending out samples of lubricants. grin Have a look.

Prudes!
Well I've managed to escape from welsh Wales with no scars!

Well done for getting away now you can unwind and start planning for the party.

My samples have arrived the OG is very intrigued as to what is in the packet grin I will let him into the surprise eventually grin

glass thanks for the giggle. I really liked the lovers having a cuddle icon.smile

When and where is it? Some of us have been working to earn the cash for the new diamond tiara for the occasion! (the old one was a bit of an old fashioned setting!)

glassortwo Fri 09-Mar-12 17:01:10

Think its Stonehenge tomorrow night. grin think thermal might be a better choice, of course you could put you tiara on top of you woolly hat and if its a clear night the moon will twinkle your diamonds grin

I am to be found on both forums and they are very different in their outlook.

Grannynet is less inclined to discuss controversial topics I think, and will very often close down a topic that would not cause a batted eyelid on this forum. Religion, same sex marriages etc. - these are openly discussed there by some, but then others feel the need to ask for the topic to be closed.

It is interesting that grannynet seems to have more churchgoers, particularly catholics.

However I do find it an interesting place to be and at times have received useful advice and support.

It does not have the same open-mindedness as this forum.

We're a great bunch aren't we?grin

glassortwo Fri 09-Mar-12 17:05:04

mishap its the first time I have had a look, interesting asking for threads to be closed down, does that not make discussion difficult if you have to be cautious of crossing the line?

greenmossgiel Fri 09-Mar-12 17:12:50

Doesn't look very 'professional', does it? Or is it just me? confused

JessM Fri 09-Mar-12 17:14:25

Glad to hear you did not get misled by the satnav jeni and end up in somewhere completely unexpected. Cant go that wrong with the M4 though.
Stonehenge tomorrow night. Is there a theme?

jeni Fri 09-Mar-12 17:20:04

Road works in Swansea were a little confusing! But managed.
I have just looked at the site:- booooorinnggg!. Thank heaven for you bunchgrin.

Stonehenge? How about Boudicca's lot. I know they are later, but just think of the fun we could have with scythes fitted to the freedom and equality chariot having salaam races round the stones!

Butternut Fri 09-Mar-12 17:20:13

Body paint. grin. I will be wearing a woolly hat though. It is a pagan festival after all. (Isn't it?)

Jeni - Tiaras look v. fetching with that. confused

jeni Fri 09-Mar-12 17:21:20

Woad! Oh yes! Blue is my coloursmile

jeni Fri 09-Mar-12 17:23:06

But didn't they put lime on their hair and made it into stiff spikes like punks? How would you get a wooly hat on those confused

Butternut Fri 09-Mar-12 17:31:05

Boudicca quite fancies a 'ben hur' type chariot race. Perfect place, too. After today's mulling over on 'what to wear for a wedding' and finding nothing that suits, woad and spiked hair is beginning to look interesting...........grin

jeni Fri 09-Mar-12 17:40:07

In tasteful designs of course! Flowers, Chinese, geometric, Celtic etc!

yogagran Fri 09-Mar-12 17:43:38

I had a brief look at Grannynet, found their site to be a little "user unfriendly" and couldn't be bothered to go any further with it, although I must have registered at some time as I get their email newsletters - as jeni said -- "boring"

Greatnan Fri 09-Mar-12 18:08:15

I must join and see how many discussions I can get closed!

glammanana Fri 09-Mar-12 18:09:09

I had registered at Grannynet at one time so me being the nosey person that I am I followed the link from glass got myself frozen off for 15mins as the username and password where not recognised and my user name and password is the same for all the forums that I am a member of,so not impressed, found it very boring anyway to clinical.

glammanana Fri 09-Mar-12 18:10:38

Thats a good idea greatnan that will keep you out of mischief for a while grin

yogagran Fri 09-Mar-12 18:55:20

Perhaps jings will stir them up as well grin
Come on jingle where are you?

wotsamashedupjingl Fri 09-Mar-12 22:37:42
