jeni, the yolk is the best bit (yum-wise). If you're allergic to egg yolk why bother with egga at all? Just asking.

The white has got more protein. And less fat. No iron though.

I have just had a small piece of very nice homemade but not by me xmas cake.

I think the protein content of white and yolk is similar but the yolk has nearly all the vitamins and minerals, not to mention the taste.

Don't care about the fat content. totally unworried by fat content.

Fats are food too.

There is more protein in the white Bagitha Madam. The yellow has got fat.

Hmm. Convince me by sending me the source of your info. Who says there is more protein in egg white? Not that it matters that much. I still don't think it's worth eating eggwhite on its own except in meringue, and then you've usually eaten the yolks in something else anyway.
