Oh - poor super. Hope it goes ok.
Lest we forget what we have just lost ....
The government changed women's pension age and called it progress. Did anyone actually ask you?
Where is everyone? I know I'm not the only insomniac; been awake since 3.00 and I'm now bored....
Oh - poor super. Hope it goes ok.
At least you can still smile - and type!
OMG!!! Poor Golden as well!!
I hope you didn't have that coffee Ariadne. My doc told me only water.
My sympathies are with you*supernana*, see you back here after our dental visits.
Good luck
Hi again. Feeling guilty about the dentist, haven't been for ages.....crossing fingers here.
I seem to have put several moans on gn this morning. Don't want Xmas. Can't find things. Haven't had an email I want. Still sleepy! Oh well.
I must get on with today. I had several jobs on to fix things here, one being to stop draughts in my roofed side house passage - important as I have plants in there! Find the bubble wrap and stuff it in the gaps under the door etc.
............................bye.
Ariadne my gp said only water too.
Super, I'm full of admiration for your stoical attitude!
green it's a blood test I'm happy to have! I changed my diet to much healthier food intake so gp agreed I could come off statins several months ago and monitor cholesterol with blood tests.
Sympathies with supernanna and GoldenGran hope it all goes well.
If I had know that I was not the only insomniac here I would have had a peep at this thread earlier, I also do not sleep well, but now if I am awake before sparrows cough I will have a look here and see who I can keep company with.
You all know the drill, wake up need the loo, make a
and read a little, try and settle back for a sleep .... need the loo again, get back into bed then the cat wants to go out so up you get. Get back into bed now wide awake (again) so read a little (again) , try and settle back down for a sleep ................... need the loo (again) back to bed and just as you drift back to sleep the cat wants to come back in and no one will get any sleep with the noise she is making so up you get and let her in. Wide awake again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make another
..... need the loo ...

supernana, hope this dentist visit goes as well as the last! xx
Sympathy, annika and super. Best to get it over with. It does hurt the credit card - well, mine at any rate. But I can
Hope it went well supernana. I had to visit our lovely dentist this morning for replacement of a bit of broken tooth which fell off a few days ago. She says best option will be a gold inlay if this temp job doesn't last, so am hoping for a big drop in the price of gold!
Why couldn't we have teeth that don't hurt?
DH has gone out so will now remain slumped on the sofa with laptop doing random computer things and achieving little. Bliss.
Ariadne I don't know if depends on what the blood tests are for, mine was a fasting test to check sugar levels and I had a note from the surgery in with my reminder saying I could eat nothing after 12 o'clock and then only water, black tea or black coffee until the test.
Good luck at the dentist supernana.
MrsJamJam asked for teeth that don't hurt, please can I put in a request for teeth that don't fall apart.
I'm full of admiration for all of you who are up so early, 7.00 - 7.30 is my usual time and I do still sleep fairly well, although I'm an owl and don't do off to bed till after midnight. I do understand how frustrating it must be to wake SO early, I sometimes have sleepless times when I go to bed and can lie there for what seems like hours not drifting off. I don't like to get up again as I will disturb OH. The dog would be confused too as he has been put to bed with a biscuit and all the lights out!
Brave supernana - my smiley would have been very different!
at least!
You are all so lovely
Treatment only took an hour this time. Lay back in the Mastermind-esque reclining chair, and imagined that I was playing at trains with the wee man. Whenever the shrill drill whined, it was the whistle of the station master. Wore those big funny specs, and through the grey tinted lenses, I imagined a little, chubby, round-faced boy with the sweetest of smiles. Over and done with in next to no time. Sipping tomato soup through a straw. Catching up with my favourite on-line friends. toothy
Well done brave supernana, my treatment was not as bad as yours, did not involve drills thank goodness. I had something stuck under the tooth, three injections and a lot of hard scraping,. Numbness wearing off but think I too will be eating soup tonight.
hi to you, this is my 2nd attempt to send you a message, I was just saying that I too wake early sometimes, and sometimes I have an abundance of energy so I just do some ironing, or maybe some polishing, knowing that I can eventually go back to bed and sleep in, or maybe read a book and doze off. Trouble is that I have lost my husband so no one to nudge and grumble at, if only................ just get on with it.
Here's wishing you a good night sleep tonight and hope that you dream lots of lovely dreams and wake refreshed, ready to face Friday.
Best Wishes
RachelB
Hi Annika you sound like a funny lady, sense of humour and all that....... what is it about us ladies, the men can sleep anywhere anytime and maybe on a clothes line and yet us................ no way, I maybe think that our minds work in a different way to the male species, always active, thinking about jobs tomorrow, are the kids ok, have we defrosted tomorrow's dinner on and on and on, but there we go......... is it not great that we have access to this wonderful 'thing' called IT, at least we can contact others in the same predicament and 'off load' our probs if need be, so keep chatting on the forum, and best wishes to the GRANSET site, may it reign for a long time to come.
Sleep well ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Rachel
Oh, ladybird9, my post must have looked so insensitive. I was grumbling about a snoring husband. I'm so sorry for your loss and hope that you too, sleep better tonight.
Good morning all. Given up trying to get back to sleep! Been laying there thinking about my son who split up from his OH yesterday. He is technically homeless now. We can't have him with us, long story, suffice to say long history of family problems, but I love him dearly and can't help worrying. He is 35, so not a youngster, but seems to burn his boats on a regular basis.
So much for thinking "Right, can't sleep, I will go and write something cheery on GN"!!
So sorry to hear about your son syberia. It doesn't matter how old they are, we never stop worrying about them.
I woke at 4.30 with leg cramps and it took me an hour to finally give in and get up!
thanks, Notsogrand
I lay there for ages too, kept hoping the warm snuggly bed would do the trick!
Now that it's past 6am it doesn't feel such an unearthly hour to be up and doing. Have you got much on today syberia?
I pick my two young grandsons up from school & pre-school on Fridays, they come back here for dinner and I take them home in time for bed. I've started decorating the kitchen, so will crack on and do a bit more this morning so paint etc dries before the boys get here.
I quite enjoy decorating, and try not to get too frustrated about how much longer it takes me now that the knees/hands/etc/blah don't all co-operate as they used to!
I enjoy decorating too. We moved here 14 months ago and are gradually getting it to how we want it. Like you, I take my time, but I have fun doing it.
We had a new front door put in on Thursday and it took me a day to get over it!!
Not much on today, general ironing. I have a friend coming to visit late morning so looking forward to that.
Might take a walk into town for a browse, though we are not blessed with much in the way of good shops here. No major lines except for Tesco Express!! I try to get out for a short walk if I can as I spend a lot of time indoors now I have stopped work, like you I was in social work.
