A relative had this for many years, he managed it at home, he had a sterile area set aside in a spare room to carry it out, I think he did it more than once a day, it was called a peritoneal wash out. He was scrupulous with his hygiene when carrying out the procedure to avoid any risk of infection and he seemed to cope very well. I remember that he had large stocks of the necessary fluids, tubes and equipment. I hope all goes well for you both, best wishes x
