Now that's a very good point, Lillygran. I suppose that in the old days the countryside was very much more heavily populated with all the appropriate infrastructures and potential for story lines. Now that farming is much, much less labour intensive and living in the country very much for the rich, whether farmers or ex-townies, there is just not the same scope for the story writers. Does this portend the end of the Archers as we know it or the start of a change to a modified version set in town or city? I hope not and don't we have enough of those sort of soaps already? Its all very disturbing!
