Well I am an addict and proud of it! Love it all even the boring bits and now love Ambridge Extra.......I believe I am not alone either????

Papaoscar as you seem to be au fait with the goings on in Ambridge can you tell me about the state of play with Helen and Rob. Is he up to no good and is his wife pregnant? I only hear an episode occasionally.
jess is pregnant. was seen by susan in the shop, who could not wait to tell clarie. rob has strung helen a story.. not sure what missed that bit, but helen believes rob and thinks jess is not well, emotionally and is telling lies...
jess is apparently very pregnant, but not fullterm. susan and clarie were trying to work out if she conceived before jess left last december.. (was that after the dropped salmon?)
I'm still catching up with the Archer's after being away recently. I was shocked, horrified and upset when I heard David talking to Jill about whether she'd move to Northumberland with them. Brookfield, without an Archer, impossible. So relieved to see Merlot's plan to kill off Heather, thus ensuring David, Ruth, Jill and co remain at the farm, and deal with the road issue.
Is Rob the father of Jess's baby? Like Nelliemoser, I loved Pat's rant about Helen. Go Pat I found myself shouting as I made bacon butties for breakfast on Sunday. I also enjoyed Tony, reminding Pat that feminism means giving women the choice about work/children/staying home etc. It's so good to catch up with the Archer's after a week in a foreign country
Nankate, I rather feel that somebody will have to somehow get Jess and Rob to provide DNA specimens so that we'll all know whether or not the Svengali-like Rob is, in fact, the daddy. But then, is Jess actually pregnant at all? Could it be an invention on her part just to stir things up. Dont forget that Rob likes to leap over things on his hunter in pursuit of the uneatable, so might he be going to fall into a deep pit of his own making before much longer? Will the fair Helen receive more unwelcome news about the cause of Jess's condition and launch herself on Rob with a thousand whips? I can barely contain myself!
If they want to get rid of a number of well-established characters, they could spare us the totally unconvincing move to the North and gather them in the Bull and arrange some cataclysmic event. Or push them off the roof. Perhaps Helen, having now rediscovered a love of hunting, could run amok with hounds and savage the surplus characters?
Yes, they do seem to be brewing up for a mass exit of actors.
Nah, they can't send David, Jill, Ruth and their children to Northumberland, at least not without having a spin off series.
The Archers have always farmed Brookfield. Their cows have always lived outside. That has to continue for a while surely!
I want to know what`s going to happen to the Green Cemetery and all those trees that Mike looks after if he debunks to Birmingham? Of course he was training the long lost Jamie to become a tree surgeon so he might just land on his feet!!
It takes at least six months to sell a farm so plenty of time for Jill to keep fainting and Heather to snuff it!
Am I the only one who thinks Carol's herb garden will have some sinister part to play in future storylines?
Remember John's letter to Jennifer?
The Green Cemetry is to be the location for the new Ambridge International Airport, Recycling and Funeral Facility quietly being organised by the Borsetshire Land sharks, sorry, entrepreneurs - 'The grab 'em, bag 'em and burn 'em brigade!' Stage 1, the new by-pass. Plans include the construction of the Linda Snell Peace Pavilion (Find yourself with a goat) and Grundies' Fast Food House and Theme Park (Turkeys from poult to plate - a new approach). No wonder the Brooksiders are preparing to jump ship. Ambridge may be the dead centre of the country, but the sensitive Archers won't want to be exposed to all that crass commercialism and soot.
They are culling characters left right and centre at the moment. Tom, Kirsty, Hayley, Abbey, Pip has gone silent, Jamie and Cathy have been quiet for a while. Mike, Vicky and Beth are off.
the are going to have to change the name of the programme soon to "The Archer."
There is just too much going on at once. Life in the country is generally a bit more boring than that as far as incidents go! That is why I love it.
The whole thread about moving up north is so ill thought-out - it makes no sense at all and feels as if it has been thrown in to create drama or facilitate the exit of actors.
The move will never happen. Jill is playing the 'long game'. X
I don't think it is wrong for David and Ruth to think about moving. Whether they would or not is another thing.
I still think Roy and Hayley, Mike and Vicky will move to Birmingham. If Haley and Roy separate and divorce Roy will want to be close to his children and will probably have better work prospects there.
Elizabeth will have to live with people knowing about the affair. It won't be long now before it is all round the village.
Getting Lynda Snell to go into Borchester to join the Am Dram group there seems more like real life. These people would not now be so adhered to the village.
I really like the way they have focused on the much older characters recently. There have been some very insightful episodes recently.
can Pheobe (feebs) please go with Hayley and Abby and not become a fixture with Jennifer and 'oh Brian' - she has an irritating teen whine and is as annoying as Pip was/is.
more of the older characters please, Clarry, Susan, Bert and Jill (even Carol Tregoran)
Can David and Ruth really be considering leaving Brookfield - I don`t think it will happen they would have to wind up The Archers!!!!
As for Pheebs and her wider family circle am so sorry most of them are off into the unknown of Birmingham what on earth are the current writers thinking about??????
I suppose it's called "The Archers" not "Ambridge" but I do hope not sparkygran. If they follow a more scattered family ...
I suppose it could work.
I hope they are not going to put anyone more of the characters through more of this. I know it is life but the good thing about the Archers is that life happened slowly. All the recent East Enders style storylines seem very rushed to me.
Surely Ruth's mum will solve the problem by dying.
Can someone fill me in. How is Jennifer Phoebes gran?
Must have been in the years I wasn't listening.
Pheebs is Kate's daughter (who lives in South Africa ) and Jennifer is Kate's mum. Roy is Pheeb's father but is married to Hayley (he was never married to Kate who is married to someone else - Lucas??? and has further children by him)
HTH
Phoebe is the daughter of Roy and Kate, Jennifer's extremely annoying daughter, suzied. I believe dahling, dahling Kate's living out in South Africa, and long may she remain there!
Wasn't Phoebe born in a teepee at Glastonbury?
Crossed posts, mollie!
Kate hasn't been mentioned for ages, no wonder I had forgotten about her. That Roy obviously gets around. His apologetic hysteria is annoying.
Am I getting muddled, or didn't Daniel have some sort of serious arthritis type thing in the past, yet now he's off in the army being an all round action man?
