Well I am an addict and proud of it! Love it all even the boring bits and now love Ambridge Extra.......I believe I am not alone either????

mollie65 Mon 03-Nov-14 07:52:13

why doesn't Heather (Ruth's mum) who has suffered a broken wrist (?) temporarily come down to Brookfield instead of the other way round. surely (am I expecting realism grin) she could lock up and leave.
also won't there be appeals re Route B that will drag on for EVER

suzied Mon 03-Nov-14 12:49:51

Yes that is a truly rubbish storyline , but hey people are talking about it. How much less hassle for Heather to come to stay rather than the whole family sell up, move hundreds of miles etc. I still think they may get to the brink and then she pops her clogs. Will Rob turn put to secretly have designs on Henry? I think people on here would make good scriptwriters.

Lilygran Mon 03-Nov-14 12:52:52

I was thinking of Brum when I wrote 'urban'.

NfkDumpling Mon 03-Nov-14 12:57:51

Did I hear right? Tom Graham is upset that he is to be replaced when Tom Archer returns from running a pig farm in Canada?
(He's certainly blown it now for giving the plot away)

papaoscar Mon 03-Nov-14 13:21:12

I've lost track of who's who in all this so looked up Wikipedia 'The Archer' cast. Very interesting if you've got an hour or two to spare, plenty of skeletons in plenty of cupboards! And route B? That could be the early stages of the next pan-galactic highway, so look out for the arrival of a character called Arthur Dent and his battered old Ford Prefect.

Nanabelle Sat 15-Nov-14 23:39:24

At last, Friday's night's episode is a good storyline. Do hope Tony is not going to be written out. And when will Helen realise that she is supposed to look after her own child and not keep palming him off on her parents, especially when they are so busy - well, her mum wasn't even there. Just as well Helen only has one child …… so far!

Nanabelle Sat 15-Nov-14 23:40:52

papaoscar - I loved listening to Hitchhikers many years ago on the radio. Thanks for reminding me.

papaoscar Sun 16-Nov-14 04:13:46

Yes, * Nanabelle*, there was something about Peter Jones' laconic voice-over on the old radio version of Hitchhikers', and the electronic music, that was unforgetable - you can still get bits of it on YouTube, thank goodness. Now back to the Archers Omni this morning and the prospect of a large pan-galactic after lunch...

Soutra Sun 16-Nov-14 07:54:00

At last a credible plotline with the sort of accident thst can happen on a farm all too easily. Poor old Tony- there won't be that many Archers left if this goes on!

suzied Sun 16-Nov-14 08:20:54

Maybe this is why the new Tom has to come back from Canada

Iam64 Sun 16-Nov-14 08:25:03

Soutra - your post needed a spoiler alert, I've missed the Archers this week. Poor Tony, whatever has happened to him, he's not had an easy time has he. Having Helen as a daughter is enough pressure I'd have thought.

merlotgran Sun 16-Nov-14 12:36:41

That farm has a shocking health and safety record. hmm

Johnny's tutor will dine out on this.

papaoscar Sun 16-Nov-14 14:46:32

Good gracious, we all needed something strong after his morning's happenings. Poor old Tony, gored by his own bull and choppered away to Brum. Is he being written out? Fingers already pointing at Johnny and Helen, sure the PC brigade will be climbing all over them. Peggy's party will be a bit muted (has she broken something or not?), and what happens when Brian finds out he's got to bid for Brookfield despite Ruth & David's handshake. Eddy's plans for Roman turkey rituals will probably involve more health & safety issues - does Carol T know whst she is getting into with the Grundy clan. The new ex-Eastender's scriptwriter has certainly livened things up, whether for the better or not remains to be seen.

Iam64 Mon 17-Nov-14 08:44:05

I caught up so far as Tony being gored by the bull, whilst clearing out book shelves yesterday. I hope to catch up with Peggy's party etc this morning (more domestic bliss here…..)

papaoscar, I do hope Johnny's tutor's favourable impression of how careful Pat n Tony are about health n safety, won't be spoiled. Accidents happen on farms, very quickly. I do hope the bull is safe, he was only doing what bull's do and has been such a joy for Tony. Will Tony walk again, will Tom return from Canada, will Helen ever get a grain of sense, is Peggy fading into depression, how can the usually fairly grounded David n Ruth even consider uprooting Jill from the place she's loved for so long. Endless questions - off to walk the dogs, then hope to catch up with Ambridge

annodomini Mon 17-Nov-14 09:57:09

Didn't Brian once have a stroke after being attacked by a 'mad' cow? Or am I conflating two separate incidents?

papaoscar Mon 17-Nov-14 18:43:21

Do you mean Jennifer, * AD *, or wasn't the stroke an Irish one with an unexpected ending?

Iam64 Mon 17-Nov-14 19:03:55

I think he had an epileptic fit annodomini, but I may be wrong. papaoscar, do you know? Or anyone?

chloe1984 Mon 17-Nov-14 19:51:05

I think I remember Brian being crushed by a cow when Joe was there. Also remember that due to the accident he couldn't be left alone. I am hating Rob being so reasonable, helpful and understanding as I know he is a bad 'un. Am really enjoying the story line but feel sure that Ruth and David will never be willing to pay the others their share so they will remain in Ambridge and didn't Kenton already have some money from the farm?

Mishap Mon 17-Nov-14 20:01:54

Indeed, it is unimaginable that R & D could buy another farm after sharing out the proceeds from the sale of Brookfield.

Iam64 Tue 18-Nov-14 08:52:37

It's totally bonkers, the whole story line about R and D selling Brookfield. It's one thing to have Adam risking his relationship with Ian by behaving badly (again), but it's important to keep the farming bits on a more even keel.

Teetime Tue 18-Nov-14 09:07:52

Oh I might start listening with a bit more attention now- poor Tony but not sure I can live through Helens wringing of hands and tearing at her clothes- I agree she is always palming that child off on someone. has Peggy got osteoporosis- will Jill go and be her main carer- will Jennifers venison patties ever get the acclaim they deserve? Its a cliff hanger!!!!

Gracesgran Sun 23-Nov-14 09:43:37

Is Rob going to be caught up in "coercive control" being added to the Domestic Violence Bill? That would be interesting.

papaoscar Sun 23-Nov-14 15:18:53

Hats off to Eddy Grundy - planning to dress up as a Roman turkey and hand out dodgy pardons at £5 a time, please, to the gullible having filled them up first with with home-made hooch and hocum. What a corker, but he should be careful. If he goes too far the village vigilantes will take a terrible revenge on him with large quantities of sage-and-onion and pork sausage-meat. I doubt if he could run fast enough to avoid them, loaded down with all that loot. And now Justin is offering £7m+ for Bridge Farm. Will it be blunderbusses at dawn between him and Brian? I feel a bit sorry for the poor old bull, he was only doing what comes naturally to the usually very pc Tony. Will we see him back in bionic form controlling the farm from his computer using satellites and drones etc. Mind you, there are enough drones in T'Archers already without adding to the streaming pile!

Gracesgran Sun 23-Nov-14 15:27:31

Can David and Ruth turn down £7.5million? His siblings will presumably have a say in this.

grumppa Sun 23-Nov-14 15:35:32

What sane businessman offers £2.5 million over the estimated value of a property? Justin is clearly losing the plot, like the scriptwriters, and will shortly bring down BL with a disastrous scheme.
