Grandparents' brag thread

Was anyone else surprised that Louis on X factor last night didn't choose any girl groups to go forward,he let a very good girl group 'The four of diamonds'go.

My dear 6 year old GD wanting to appear grown up and sophisticated in front of the builders reminded her mummy to remember that she should use that fake cucumber in the fridge.
As the builders collapsed in a heap my daughter did try to explain it was the cucumber eye masks the little one talked about. MMMMM they were not convinced.

My grandsons (1,yr old) face lights up when he sees me - that's all I need

Trisher I'm with you on this one. The stories are only cute and amazing to the grandparents themselves.
Personally I find my friends' mature antics far more hilarious.

The family visited yesterday, GC went off to the music room and started playing a duet. The seven year old played the piano and her sister the violin, I was surprised as it is the first time I have heard them do this. GC bring great pleasure

We went to visit for Sunday Roast and DGD1 (aged 9) asked if I had been busy that morning. 'Yes' said I, 'since I got my new ironing board I have completed emptied the ironing basket. There's not a single crinkly or wrinkly thing left in the house' 'Oh', said she 'so you ironed you and Granpa too?'

I just have to share this for those of you who remember the anguish I went through when my NZ granddaughter was born very prematurely (27 weeks) last March.

My daughter has sent me two video clips of said granddaughter recently. One shows her asking for and using her potty and the other shows mummy reading a book to her in Spanish and the little one responding by pointing out what mummy is asking her to. Age adjusted for her early birth she's only fifteen and a half months - and there were we, worrying about possible developmental delays!!

She's adored whatever her intellectual capacities may have been, but it's reassuring to know that she seems to be not only achieving, but surpassing her milestones.

That's wonderful news GA not just for your family but for everyone worried about 'premmies'

Lovely news GA. Is there any chance of your getting out to see them again?

The flights are booked anno - we'll be with her for her second birthday next March. I am soooooo excited.

So pleased GA I've often wondered how they were getting on.
