I have recorded it from a Flemish channel tonight, looking forward to watching it.
I really enjoy it and nice that we get the new ones at the same time.

TriciaF Thu 14-Apr-16 14:55:54

I like Lesley Sharp better, but they're both brilliant.
We have it recorded - looking forward to watching.

Charleygirl Thu 14-Apr-16 15:30:13

I enjoyed it last night, especially as I did not have to think what happened 2 series and 3 years ago! There was no sub plot that I was not aware of which made a change.

mollie Thu 14-Apr-16 15:49:01

Glad to see it back but missed Amelia Bullmore in charge... They were a brilliant trio.

Greyduster Thu 14-Apr-16 16:02:13

I missed Amelia Bullimore too. Brilliant series, Scott and Bailey. I liked the slight undertone of brittleness underneath all the banter between them last night, as if something personal was about to spill over but never quite did. Watch this space!

PRINTMISS Thu 14-Apr-16 16:44:38

I was really disappointed in last night's episode, I rather felt that it had taken on an "American" feel. All fast talk, one sentence, a look, and then nothing. I shall continue to watch, because I like the programme, but only if, in my opinion, it gets a little more connected.

LullyDully Thu 14-Apr-16 17:28:21

It feels like that printmiss because she has just come back from a fast, frantic year in London. She will need to calm down I would think.

wot Thu 14-Apr-16 17:55:01

I was disappointed too print miss. It just didn't have the same spark for me as before.

Ana Thu 14-Apr-16 18:06:13

She was a bit of a mess in the last series, wasn't she? Drinking too much, difficult relationship with her mum, work clothes sometimes rather dishevelled.

This new version is a bit too slick and confident at the moment and I agree there isn't quite the same spark.

Eloethan Fri 15-Apr-16 00:43:00

I didn't enjoy it quite as much as I usually do. As mentioned, I missed Amelia Bullimore too and I also agree that the pace seemed different. Still, it's a lot better than some of the stuff that's on.

Iam64 Fri 15-Apr-16 21:56:01

She's been metropolitanised, it wont last ?. I missed the last series and I enjoyed the Mancness of it all

PRINTMISS Thu 21-Apr-16 15:46:08

I thought the programme last night was a mish mash of ideas and information, and eventually lost the plot! Too much happening too fast.

Eloethan Thu 21-Apr-16 16:07:27

I agree - I lost the plot too.

Ana Thu 21-Apr-16 16:09:42

Last ever episode next week - it's not being recommissioned.

They're obviously cramming as much action in as they can...hmm

ninathenana Thu 21-Apr-16 16:16:32

Fell asleep so was even more confused than others grin

rubylady Fri 22-Apr-16 11:45:51

It hardly feels like it's got going, how can it end on the 27th? confused

mollie Fri 22-Apr-16 15:54:24

I'm not enjoying this series so much as others and am glad that it's a short one. I miss Amelia Bullimore, her absence is very noticeable and I'm fed up with Suranne Jones biting everyone's head off and being an idiot. The story of the daughter's naughty photos is a steamroller to crack a hazelnut and while I guess it's technically and legally accurate, are we to think the police would waste their resources on what was obviously kids larking about?

NanKate Sun 24-Apr-16 07:24:31

I agree not as good as the last series.

Line of Duty far superior and Happy Valley.

Iam64 Sun 24-Apr-16 08:10:55

I 'm another in the disappointed camp. I know it isn't RL but I still felt very uneasy watching the Suranne Jones character drinking heavily whilst talking about being 4 months pregnant.
I'm with mollie on seeing the issue of the teenagers taking photographs as being over stated. I accept its a serious safeguarding issue but I find it difficult to believe the investigation would be managed like this. The police are over stretched - I've known young sex offenders given a caution when in truth they ought to have been prosecuted with a view to them receiving some kind of therapeutic help with their abusive behaviour. Cautions in those circumstances were against force policy in the area I worked in but they still happened regularly. Helped the clear up rates. Surely the 16 year old girl here would accept a caution - job done.
