For some reason the algorithms are not allowing me to search the forums and I know the answers to my thread query are on the site somewhere
I’m going on a cruise in a few weeks and know it will be a bit chilly of an evening and need some thickish coloured tights that don’t give me the Nora Batty look, I’ve seen one company especially recommended by a number of people but I can’t remember their name, is anyone able to help me please
TIA

Snag tights are regularly recommended, I’ve no personal experience of them.

Snag they are very good.

Yes, I wish they’d made them years ago. I’ve got boxes full of tights that I’ve bought for special occasions but never fitted me because I’m a funny shape. So I’ve now found tights that I can wear but never wear dresses.

Wolford were always fabulous.
Lots of sizes and fibres - including silk and wool.
Used to wear these.

Hmmmm.......why do tights manufacturers assume that the wider you are the taller you MUST be?

Definitely not so in my case!

I like Charnos tights. I have some lovely thick knitted ones.

Of the ones recommended, which age groups do they suit please?

My tights definitely need an update, but been holding back buying new ones for years.

Wolford are expensive but hand washed and treated with care they go on and on.

Not sure what you mean by "age groups".

M & S have a good range of sizes, colours and deniers.

margs Snag tights do a variety of sizes to avoid just that!

I mean do some sorts of tights look better on an 80 year old, than a 60 year old for example?

Or mine! It’s a real bug bear for many clothes

I think it's the Oriental garment industry that's done it. They think that "bigger" is a synonym for "higher". Someone ought to print them a reliably accurate dictionary! confused

Just had a quick Google and M&S sell a pack of 3, 60 denier. Aubergine, black and navy mixed pack £9.00.
I have ordered myself a pack, I get bored with black!

Thanks - will try. I'm fed up having to 'shorten' long legs by folding the extra length over at the toes when I put shoes on!

Thank you ladies, it was definitely Snag who I was thinking about, though M&S sound worth a look to!

Margs Snag also sell footless tights. They don’t do the shorter length in them but at 5’2” they’re fine for me. They’re versatile enough to be used either as tights or leggings depending on what I’m wearing and very useful to use with any boots that need a thicker sock. I’m a real fan of SNAG, can you tell? smile
