I was wondering how one would go about training a gherkin

Not a lot of use, they’re almost always pickled.

I grew some last year and trained them up sticks like cucumbers.

Well thank you all - I have enjoyed this thread hugely, and will look at gherkins in a very different way from now.

So disappointed - I was looking forward to having a pet gherkin or two....

Oh I do hope not! Gherkins in potato salad or in some kinds of curry, but I am certain they taste awful in soup!
