A 'Must' for pedants?

Isn't Oliver Kamm one of the two blokes arguing pedantic points with each other on the thread thatbags started a few days ago?

I think his book would be rather too highbrow for me!

As long as he doesn't say it's okay to use "off of", or "of" instead of "have".

I think this chap is putting the opposite point of view - that language is about common usage and understanding and shouldn't be so rule-based.
