Arthritis in hand

This is a difficult one Sallywally1 as the effects of these injections vary wildly from person to person.

I've had them twice, once for my spine and once for my hand. I've never been recommended to have "several". They were one offs.

Me? Well, I think I'd prefer to go through unassisted childbirth!

Made no difference to my pain whatsoever - but someone may come along and say the opposite.

Did the surgeon go over the percentages of how likely they would be to help you and any other alternatives?

Steroid injections may relieve the pain but it won't last long as its only dealing with a symptom not the actual problem. Joint replacement cures arthritic pain permanently but i dont think its appropriate for hands. I found the pain in my hands diminished eventually and took gp prescrobed meds when it was bad. Either speak agaon to your sirgeon or GP.

I had a trigger thumb and was treated with a cortison injection it has lasted about a year but sadly has come back . It was quite painful to have it done but well worth it though it did take a few weeks to make a difference. GP said to just go back to him if it came back so I will .
