Suggestions for Breakfast

I'm looking for suggestions for breakfast from my imaginative GN friends.
I have IBS which means I can't have cereal or anything fibrous , which limits me quite a bit.
I'm on my own , and struggle to come up with something different.
Has anyone got any good ideas for me?

Poached eggs on a bed of wilted spinach, I used to react to mushrooms but can manage them now so I’d have them too. Or boiled dippy eggs with carrot “soldiers” if you can’t eat toast. Can you eat gluten/free bread? Greek yogurt with a selection of berries, and chia or flax seeds. Fried egg with bacon, scrambled egg with smoked salmon? I have IBS too but after following the FODMAP elimination method I’ve been able to re-introduce a lot of former trigger foods as long as I don’t have them at the same time, and can enjoy porridge again.

Kippers - we have them regularly. Lots of beneficial omega 3 oils etc.

I really like a couple of slices of eggy bread as a special treat, and it only takes a few minutes to make.

"Proper"' smoked haddock (not that yellow stuff) gently microwaved with. Little unsalred butter and a few tiny microwaved tomatoes.

Smoothies?

Yoghurt, banana, fresh orange juice.

Raw egg, honey, yoghurt or cottage cheese.

Whizzed up in liquidiser.

How long have you got?
Eggs in any shape or form, boiled, poached, scrambled, omelette
Rye bread
Porridge
Bacon sausages - a “full English” tomatoes etc
Fresh fruit salad
Yogurt ( whole milk, not sweetened so-called “diet”) Greek is best
Fresh grapefruit

A few years ago when I did Slimming World we were discussing breakfast ideas. Somebody mentioned having rice pudding. They made a large batch up and portioned it up to freeze etc. I tried it and quite enjoyed it. I made it fairly dry and on serving added Greek yogurt and fruit,honey etc. It’s quite refreshing at this time of year.

Mm on thinking about it I haven’t made this for a while. Off to add it to the shopping list 🤣

Yoghurt with cut up fruit eg: peeled apples or pears, grapes, raspberries, strawberries etc. Add a little honey if you want it sweeter.

I like yogurt with honey, cinnamon (IBS permitting) and raisins in the winter.

Scrambled egg with a slice of toasted white real sourdough bread (traditional sourdough is much lower in FODMAPs than standard wheat bread, and white bread keeps the fiber minimal).

Small helping of porridge with blueberries (not too many) or half a firm banana.

Greek yogurt is great because the straining process removes a lot of the whey/lactose and bumps up the protein.

A spoonful of regular, full-sugar Teisseire syrups over your yogurt (or rice pudding/porridge) - Strawberry, Grenadine, or Peach or Passionfruit for example. Drizzled over Greek yogurt this is delicious. Beware the sweetener in the no-sugar versions.

White rice with a poached (runny yolk) egg on top and a splash or two of shoyu or tamari. Or alternatively a spoonful of white miso (Shiro) or red miso (Aka) disolved in a little hot water as a sauce. Not barley miso. Just check the grains on the label.

Honey is generally only safe in small amounts (1 teaspoon) I think. And almost certainly not Clover honey - which contains even higher levels of fructose.

I have IBS and find overnight oats with psyllium husk, a small piece of banana and some almond butter has helped me enormously, but everybody’s IBS is different.

Most mornings I have 100% Greek yoghurt.
Not the Greek style one. Faye.

I sprinkle with mixed omega three seeds.
Milled flaxseed.
Blueberries, raspberries. Occasionally chopped strawberries.
Then drizzled with honey.
It’s delicious and fairly filling.

Tahini on toast (a bread you can tolerate) with sliced avocado on is a tasty change too.

If you have Instagram Dr Rupy (Drs kitchen) has good ideas.
Also Dominique Ludwig is a big favourite. As a nutritionist she gives lots of good advice and recipes. You can google for recipes from them too.

Dominique makes a 2 item loaf from red lentils.

I make an air fryer "muffin" with an egg and a rasher of streaky bacon.
Cut bacon into small pieces, line a small soufflé dish with bacon, add egg. Cook in air fryer approx 8 mins 200° . Cooking yome can be varied dependant on texture of egg preferred. Leave about 5 mins, tip out and eat as a muffin. (I cook mine 10 mins leave for 10 mins and by that time its firm and easily handled).
Next would be mix of Greek yoghurt and mashed up soft fruits.

Find a decent sized glass and layer up frozen fruit with plain yoghurt. A simple Greek yoghurt is good. Cover will cling film and put in the fridge overnight where it'll be ready for you in the morning. I also use granola which I don't think is suitable for you.
