Does anyone else remember their mother covering the Christmas Pudding with a flour and water paste to keep out moisture during or after cooking? I can't seem to remember at what stage it was done but I'm sure I haven't imagined it! I hope someone can help, because mine always seem to go mouldy if kept for a time, even though I always allow them to dry and put fresh papers on.
