WARNING:prepare for the weather storm all day Friday

We've been preparing for armageddon (as we say whenever we buy an extra tin or wind up torch!😂) for ages now so it would be interesting to put our supplies to the the test...

It’s the North of Scotland that might get extreme low temps and snow.
So high winds, rain, that’s about par for the course in late October - don’t panic Mr Mainwaring ! Don’t panic!

We’re in S England, up to 60mph wind, it’s a storm, had loads of them, this one is Austen, our day will be as usual

It’s a bit more than you suggest MawsRosie, and it’s not just Scotland. The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for Wales and south west England which lasts from midnight this Friday until midday next Friday, so we are in for some dire weather.

I have my History group on Thursday night so it had better not start before then!

Surely most people,( I do underline most because there will be exceptions) usually have a reasonable store of food in their homes. Not Prepping stores, but just reasonably stocked food cupboards. When ever you see anyone's open kitchen cupboard there are usually tins and packets of pasta and why do most of us have fridge freezers, if it is not to put spare food in until it is needed?

I’ll never forget the house being battered by Storm Arwen. We thought the windows were going to blow in, the carpets were lifting and we lost part of the roof!

I have always had a well stocked larder and freezers. So much so our AC use our kitchen like a free supermarket.

Autumn seems a stormy time, we're prepared.

Cupboard re-stocked as anything is used.

I think people need things they can eat straight out of tins or packets eg sardines. Biscuits. Nuts. Tin fruit. Corned beef.
In case the power supply is interrupted. Also bottled water.
Just in case.

The warning on the Met Office site is a yellow one, Cornwall north to Wales and East along the coast to Sussex on Friday, Saturday has no warnings.

We’ve had a bit of a ‘starter’ here* today - very windy and the sort of really heavy rain we haven’t seen for many months.

Fingers crossed the reservoirs will fill up a bit.

Send us some rain please. It is getting very dry again and it is not even Summer yet. Had to water the garden this evening, grass has gone brown already. Hope we don’t get too many fires this year. 30 C tomorrow, unheard of this early down here in the South.
