WARNING:prepare for the weather storm all day Friday

Let’s not diminish this. In some parts of the UK there has been flooding - as in Largs, and damage and destruction as well as power cuts. Just because some of us are just getting a bit of rain and windy weather that doesn’t mean others are not getting much worse.
It was the same during the heatwave with those living in less consistently hot parts of the UK scoffing at what they saw as a big fuss over nothing.

Indeed. Here in Perth city centre it’s howling. Can only imagine what other, more exposed areas in Scotland are dealing with.

Oh dear, Marydoll
It reminds me of last November and the floods then.

The Ayrshire coast has beeb badly hit. 😪

It looks awful up there, I feel for the poor people who are caught up in it.

It's really windy here but at least sunny today.
We're going out later, I'm wondering if any trees are down as whichever way we go is through woodland.

Take care. Walking in woodland when it is windy can be quite risky. Branches can suddenly fall with little or no warning.

Had a close shave last year when was with DDS and the young DGC, and the winds were only average that day.
It wasn't even a particularly large branch, but as it crashed on the ground, we realised realised what could have happened if it had struck any one of us.

Indeed, Fallingstar. I am at Paddington station watching every train to my destination cancelled, due to " excessive water".

DD sent me a picture of Dumbarton Castle, which sit on top of an extinct volcano, high above the River Clyde.
It now has a moat!

I hope you get a train at some point. 🤞Disruption to rail and travelling by car isn’t just down to flooding but fallen trees.

What? I'm heading back to Devon in a bit.
They'd better get it sorted pronto.

From Paddington I mean.

All good at Paddington heading West if anyone is worried.

I feel so sorry for the business owners in Largs.

The residents and business folk of Largs are sighing with relief - the council have delivered sandbags - only 24 hours after they were needed

Sometimes it's plain embarrassing to be Scottish.

That did cross my mind about why there were no sandbags.
Shameful.
It is not as if there were no warnings.
