AI captions getting it so wrong….

I’ve seen so many incidences lately, but just this morning I’ve seen a corker!
It was on a FB clip from Keeping Up Appearances, the plump sister - Onslow’s wife, Daisy? - was addressing the other sister - ‘…our Rose - equals Arrows!’ according to AI!

(Yes, I know I shouldn’t be wasting time on FB trivia, but I’m relaxing with temporary lovely P&Q while dh is taking the 3 Gdcs for a bike ride - we’ve had them staying for 3 nights and another tonight…)

Oddly enough, I saw something earlier. Ronnie Wood was talking about the Rolling Stones' song 'Rough And Twisted', mentioning it by name. AI decided he said 'Robert Mitchum'.

Not even close!

A friend of mine is a professional subtitler - AI is a very rough tool for translating the spoken word to subtitles! She has lost some work to AI but retains other complex work because there just isn’t a replacement yet for a human who can hear all the minute differences that arise in speech, especially when it comes to interpreting accents, people who speak a non-native language and technical speech.
