I occasionally pop onto Mumsnet and am fascinated (horrified?) at the character of weddings now and all that surrounds them.
No longer a happy occasion to welcome someone new into the family and make a lifelong commitment they seem to have become a performance. One bride is insisting that her young mixed race bridesmaids straighten their hair for the occasion - what the heck?!
None of this reflects my experience with my own DDs nor their many friends' weddings. Is it just Mumsnet women?
I would be interested to know whether anyone has experienced this sort of behaviour in real life or with their own families.
And as for over-the-top expensive and sometimes abroad hen and stag dos - what is that about?
Am I just an old fuddy-duddy?
Angela Rayner is a scrounger, grifter and shameless hypocrite.
What "back then" inconvenience would annoy today's youngsters?
