Finding a nice pair of cropped trousers?

At the beginning of the season I bought myself some linen cropped wide legged trousers. Sadly, they do nothing for me. I keep seeing ladies around with cropped Capri trousers which are tailored. Would anyone know where I could get a pair/pairs, please? Thank you.

They are everywhere. From Monsoon to Shien & Temu, Amazon, eBay, Debenhams, Cotton Traders.

I have been buying organic cotton ones from either Sea Salt or Thought. They are very comfortable and come in nice colours.

Roman sell them with a good selection of colours. I've bought a few and they are a good fit, nice material and wash well.

Capris are on trend this year so you shouldn’t have any problems finding them.

Well, if you're short'n'fat, like moi, you will look like a bizarre cousin of Billy Bunter.

The secret with cropped trousers is that they finish at the slimmest part of your lower leg , which could just below . your knees or as your lower leg slims down to your ankles . Also if you have a wide leg pair, team them with a slimmer , slightly cropped top . With slim fit capris you can have a floaty longer top half. Hope that makes sense .

Thank you for this. Please could you tell me if they are similar in sizing to M & S. I am an M & S 14-16. I have already seen a nice pair of blue ones which look perfect.

A huge thank you to everyone. I am going to take a look at all the suggestions and Roman looks promising.

Another vote for Roman! I do not like the cropped wide legs ones and think they just look as if they were trousers that have shrunk. I much prefer tighter legs, ie capris or pedal pushers. This year I bought a white pair of pedal pushers or long shorts to cover my fat knees and also a very comfortable cropped navy pair with a striped turn-up - both from Roman. Good luck!

I've never shopped in Roman, but just looked them up and they are a UK company started in 1957.
I will go there on my next visit to a local town. I have seen pretty dresses advertised on Facebook so will look at them and their cropped trousers.

Oh WHY? They like "barrel leg jeans" look horrific on most women.

Sorry - simply my opinion.

that's very funny !!!!

I'm not usually bothered about fashion, preferring 'outdoorsey' or hiking stuff but found some quite comfortable looking clothes in Percy Thrower Garden Centre (or any other Blue Diamond garden centres). The fashion name is Cerulean and think it's aimed at mature and older ladies - lots of the clothes are loose and stretchy and I even bought a pair of capris! They did have quite a few cropped trousers

My very stylish cousin has mentioned Blue Diamond fsvourably.

Yes, Percy Thrower's, Shrewsbury (Blue Diamond) do have a lovely clothes department.

Another vote for Roman. The fabric remains cool even in the hottest weather and they always look smart. A terrific choice of colours too..

I dont suit wide jeans, trousers or capri style. Make me look bigger than i am.
Got some nice capri style from shein.
Also got them in longer length.

Cropped wide legs don't do anything for anybody, they just look like you are wearing trousers that are made for somebody shorter. Stick to capris, much nicer, I find they are often advertised in the junk mail that comes with magazines and tv papers..

Another vote for Roman : I’ve got black, blue and white. They have Lycra ,so keep in shape and a good price.

Redrobin51 Thu 18-Jun-26 17:57:07

I have my usual size for trousers. The items are extremely well packed and seem to come quickly. I find the quality to be better than M & S. It only costs £3 to send them back regardless of how many you order. If you need another size as long as you keep the item they send it to you free of change. I've now bought quite a fee dresses from them, several tops and a great pair of jeans. My friend swears by their crops. They are the first place I go to now as the choice for everything is immense. You can often get some good bargains in the sale.

silverlining48 Thu 18-Jun-26 18:29:22

My gripe is that crops are all one length which means they aren’t cropped on me but come to my ankles. Really irritating.
I have taken this up with m and s to no avail.
