Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight and its dry and I have also got the moon as well a half moon this morning in Brackley .
Todays plans supposed to be on a coach trip to Nene Valley railway with Fish & Chips .
But on the health front where they did the surgery 3 years ago nearly a cut they made bled for a while in the night .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a hazy Bristol. I too can see the half moon from my bedroom window.
I’m sorry the operation scar has been bleeding, Mick, surely it shouldn’t have reopened?
My walk to Spanish was pleasant as usual, lots of beautiful peonies were open. I’m very fond of them.
In the afternoon, I pottered then went to see a neighbour, taking a bunch of flowers and foliage picked from our hedges and my beds. Very pretty.
When I got home, I was tidying up the sink ready for dinner later, when the doorbell went. It was DD and Iris! Iris was taking part in some of the 24 hour dance-athon put on by Flamingo Chicks: she wanted to learn the Irish dancing being taught. She managed 30 minutes, but wanted to do some other stuff a bit later.
Since DGD was at choir practice near here too, and they had a couple of hours to kill before the next session, they decided to visit.
It was incredibly surprising as they never come to visit!
Today, I’m serving coffee at church - unfortunately, I’m with a lady I find very difficult to work with. Ah well, it’s only for a couple of hours.
I hope all your problems and sadness are reduced this weekend. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Malta where it is hazy and the high is going to reach 27°C.

Had a lovely morning at the boys’ Sports Day yesterday. It was very well organised and a lot of fun. I was torn between watching the boys and watching DD3 with her class of little ones. I was proud of them all.

On the way home I did a bit of shopping and, rather impulsively, bought an air fryer having said I didn’t want one!
I cooked a bit of salmon in it for dinner and it was good. Saved putting the oven on.

I hope you manage to get on your coach trip, Mick.

I’m going for coffee with my upstairs neighbour this morning then later there’s tennis to watch.

Wishing you all a good weekend.☀️

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset should be dry and bright today.

Thank you all for your good wishes yesterday. I was quite overwhelmed. We spent the day gently, cards to open, many messages to respond to, a trundle along the coast to a favourite pier, a garden centre stop then home via a parcel pickup. Finally I have the jeans I’ve been searching for.

It was a day for surprises grandmattie, our elder granddaughter appeared with beautiful flowers early evening. She had unexpected space from university exams due to a timetable restructuring. Such a treat.

Today will see us heading along two motorways for a family lunch. The family favourite Chinese restaurant is worth the trip, it also means we’ll descend on our sons home afterwards and cake crumbs will be his to deal with. I feel very fortunate.

It sounds as if you could do with a chat with a medic mick. I’m sorry if you’ll miss your trip.

Wishing you all the best day it can be.

Good Morning all from the central south coast where we may get another nice day. 8 degrees on the garden thermometer so still to warm up.

I am waiting for news of my brother on the Isle of Man. My niece will let me know later how things went. I don't want to hassle her for updates as she has such a lot on her plate with 11-year old twin girls, two older boys, a long haul pilot husband plus a business to run and all the hospital visiting she is doing adding to her burdens. She knows I am concerned.

The new patio furniture didn't arrive yesterday and is now scheduled for Monday. That's fine. No one has taken the free older set so far but it will go eventually I am sure.

DH is not going out with his cycling club today as he had an upset stomach yesterday. The planned ride is a longer than usual one so, unusually, he is being sensible and staying home. He was fine by the evening but I am pleased to have him here today. We are going to do the accumulated laundry instead!

Thinking as always of all our GNs with troubles or worries of any kind and hoping the day brings some comfort and ease. sunshine

Good Morning from an overcast Spain with rain forecast. We’re off on a day trip.
I hope you can speak to your Surgery first thing Mick, better safe than sorry.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and cloudy. No rain yesterday. Mick definitely see your doctor. GrandMattie what a nice surprise for you.
Yesterday I did an hour in the school library where I saw dgs2 as the nursery use it too. All the group were very sweet. After that, I did little at home. I pottered listlessly for a while. Dinner was out of the freezer.
Today I will wash the sheets and dust and hoover. Firstly I'm meeting my friend for breakfast at the garden centre. I really could be doing with buying some stuff but she never wants to shop. As I give her a lift home, I'll leave it today. Possibly homemade pizza for dinner if I can be bothered to go to aldi for food. Have a good day all.

Good morning all from cool South Lanarkshire.

Definitely worth getting that checked Mick.

My feet are feeling the benefit of the podiatrist’s ministrations, it’s such a treat.

Today I’m meeting a friend I met at the first Gransnet Glasgow meet up almost fifteen years ago. I’m looking forward the day.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a sunny Cornwall. More painting today, there's a surprise! Yesterday I took over cooking the evening meal at my son's when he suddenly discovered he was supposed you take my grandson to cricket training. My granddaughter and I had salmon, salad and new potatoes, yum.

I had an unexpected potential visitor too, pictured trying to work out where to enter my flat. He didn't succeed. 😀

Good morning from Shropshire.A bright start with rain forecast for later.

We enjoyed a lovely evening with the grandchildren yesterday. Both went to bed when asked and were asleep very quickly as were we.

No plans for today as we are not sure when DD is coming to collect the children. If the rain holds off there is a tennis taster session we will take them to.

Thinking of all our absent friends and all with worries and struggles and wishing everyone the best day possible 🌷🦩

Good morning from King’s Cross Travelodge after a good journey home via TGV from Basel and Eurostar from Paris. En route, I managed to hurt my troublesome left thigh (an old injury from December 2024) leaving my wonderful DH to deal with all the luggage! He was very patient throughout.

On the final full day we visited Lucerne and the Bernese Oberland which was awe inspiring. A memorable trip, including rail and cable car.

Happy weekend, everyone! 🥰💐😀

Marydoll Sat 09-May-26 06:59:29

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is 5°C. Last night, the sun was so blinding, I had to stop the car twice. I couldn't see a thing.

That's rather strange about the bleeding, Mick., one would gave expected that after three years, your wound would be well healed.
If it is still bleeding, you really should seek help.

Today is First Communion Day for one of the Parish schools. I was in the hall, until 9pm last night, covering chairs. It looks beautiful.
While we were inside, the P.P was outside, planting bedding plants.
There were five of us doing it, from both schools. We always help each other out. ♥️

DH is still quite unwell, every so often, going rogue. 😔
I told the registrar in the hospital, she had wasted her time on all that training. She should just consult DH for advice, he knows best.😉

Glad to hear some happy news today, it's lovely to receive surprise visits from grandchildren.♥️

Gaga, what a worry for you. I hope you receive positive news today.

Have a love Saturday folks.

Marydoll Sat 09-May-26 07:01:27

Before and after.

kittylester Sat 09-May-26 07:18:22

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

Mick you could ring 111 for advice.

Not a lot going on here apart from singing with my choir at a craft fair.

It looks like DD1 has sold her house within a week of putting it up for sale. They have had a dozen viewings already and one offer. Suspect they should have had it on at a higher price.

Have the best day possible everyone.

RosesandLilac Sat 09-May-26 07:21:33

Good morning, it’s a lovely sunny morning here on the hillside in south Glos, still very little rainfall here.
Another not-a-lot-got-done day yesterday 🤷🏼‍♀️, besides housework and faffing around with embroidery.
Today I’m doing a zoom art class from 10-3, my painting mojo has evaporated but I need to make an effort. I know I will enjoy it once it starts.
I also need to get on with looking for an automatic car, I will get back to the garage next week or stop looking at no carry on with the car I have now.
Marydoll I have a DH like yours……utterly frustrating aren’t they?
Wishing you all a lovely weekend x

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Off to the farm shop this morning and dropping in on DS and DIL for elevenses, catch up on news of their recent holiday
Yesterday’s visit to the opticians has resulted in a referral for more laser eye treatment.
Best wishes

Sar53 Sat 09-May-26 07:25:05

Good morning from the Essex coast. It's sunny already and due to be a lovely warm day.
DH's eye is improving and he can make out colours and shapes. It's going to be a long haul.
Later this morning I'm off to Leamington to stay with the girls whilst DD1 and SIL go to Scotland for a few days. They are both 50 this year and asked me last year if I would come and stay whilst they went away.
DH has been offered lots of help whilst I'm gone, lifts etc.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and see the sun xx

brook2704 Sat 09-May-26 07:29:19

Good morning everyone from DD1s house in Cambridge where it looks like it’s going to be a lovely sunny day
Hoping you get good news from your niece soon Gagagran
I arrived here yesterday afternoon after one of the easiest journeys ever, no delays or problems and everything went smoothly. We enjoyed the usual Friday pizza night here last night and caught up on all their news. I know we’re going out somewhere today but no idea where or what time. Will see later when everyone is up
Lovely photos Ash sounds like you’ve had a wonderful time, safe onward journey home today
Early days just now Sar but good that your DHs eye continues to improve
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Greyduster Sat 09-May-26 07:29:48

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where we are in for a damp day I think. That being so, I decided to cut the big back lawn yesterday afternoon when I came home from my session at school. It involves getting the bigger of my two mowers, which is heavy, up three long steps. I have a smaller Flymo but it’s useless. It was worth the effort as it looks so much better when it’s been cut, but it left me completely whacked, so I cleaned and disinfected the bird feeders and called time on any more outside work though there is always plenty to do.

The boiler engineer came yesterday and said he thinks the problem is with the expansion vessel and not a leak on the system at which I heaved a sigh of relief. He said to keep an eye on it and if it happens again, they will call Baxi in as it is still under warranty.

This evening I’m going to the theatre with DD and SiL. I will leave my car in the park and ride, go in on the tram and meet them in town. Though it means coming home in the dark, it will be worth it I hope.

Mick, I hope you will seek some medical advice. That sound distinctly odd.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Redcar Sat 09-May-26 07:32:11

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. Another sunny morning, I’ll have to water at least some of the garden this weekend.
Yesterday’s hospital blood test went smoothly, I was early and dealt with before I could even sit down in the waiting room! I was surprised as I’d expected to see a lot of people waiting.
My hairdresser worked her magic on my hair in the afternoon, and I’m pleased with the results.

Nothing planned for today, but there’s ironing to do and probably some removal of dust!

Lovely photos ashcombe, that week seems to have gone very quickly! Fingers crossed for a trouble free journey home for you. I hope your thigh feels better today.

marydoll what a transformation in the hall, it looks beautiful. I hope that the First Communion goes well, without any problems!

grandmattie how lovely to have a surprise visit from your DD and Iris. I hope Iris enjoyed the danceathon!

Hoping that those whose are in distress for any reason will find some comfort soon.

Have the best Saturday possible everyone.

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

We will pop to M&S and have a coffee this morning.
As it is nice weather will do some washing.
Trying not to think about DH’s MRI on Tuesday.

I hope you hear something soon and it is good news Gaga.
And definitely ring 111 Mick.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Greyduster Sat 09-May-26 07:32:41

Super photos, Ash - than you!

Jaxjacky Sat 09-May-26 07:33:14

Morning from a bright S Hants, high cloud due to stay all day. Safe onward journey Ashcombe lovely pictures again, thank you.
Yesterday Asda delivered everything requested, we had a delicious steak pie for dinner, Friday is always an easy meal after our pub visit.
Today an important match for my football team at 12:30, around that some domestic chores.
Sea bass for me tonight, MrJ will sort himself, he doesn’t like fish without batter!

Good morning from Sheffield

The chairs look beautiful Marydoll

Its very drizzly here, we were going to cycle but will go tomorrow instead
I hope to get in the garden later if it stops. I have a few jobs to do.

I checked DH status with regards to his carpel tunnel operation.
He had some nerve tests in February where they said he needed both wrists operating on. We have heard nothing. Apparently the results were looked at by a doctor at our practice and he was supposed to refer him for surgery.
DH rang the practice to see what was happening. A doctor rang him back. He was very apologetic, the doctor that had viewed the results hadn’t referred him. He was furious and told DH it would be done immediately and that DH was taking the news remarkably well. It’s a good job we enquired but very worrying if it had have been something serious.
I feel sorry for people that are unable to query things like this, whether very elderly or mentally unable.
DH doesn’t stress , just takes it in his stride. He is in a lot of pain though so hopefully it will be soon

Take care everyone flowers
