My older brother just missed out on having to do NS. But I was wondering if we had had to do it, and had a choice, as Sunak seems to be saying they will offer young people, what would I have done? I was an even more passionate pacifist then so the forces would have been out. I don't think the NHS would have benefitted from my rather incompetent abilities and wouldn't have liked my ability to break things. I suppose I might have helped with children, but couldn't have handled any real problems.
If you'd had to do it what would you have done and did you have skills at that age that would have been useful?
