I think Meghan was more in love with being a Duchess than in love with Harry , just saying ,

It's all a horrible mess.

So it was nothing to do with not being accepted by the British public, or not having enough privacy or not having a big enough profile within the RF? It was planned, pretty much from the beginning, that H was being used to further M's long term career plan?

I thought about it again and was going to post on the other thread but it reached its limit really quickly.

Harry said years ago that neither he nor William were happy at the thought of becoming King. William has obviously decided that this will probably be his destiny (barring a revolution!), has matured and is undertaking his Royal duties with grace and charm with the help of his wife and has three children so Harry is no longer 3rd in line.

Others lead more ordinary lives and the Monarchy was going to reduce the number of working Royals anyway.

I wondered if Harry, with Meghan's encouragement, could be the instigator of this and he sees Meghan as his 'escape route' to a more ordinary life?

I still think they were wrong to do this in the way they did but I can see why they would both want to.

Now being totally cynical - she has got her title, she has got the money and she has got the baby.
Was Harry just a well- heeled sperm donor?

Does it all really matter? There are 5 people in line for the throne before Harry.

Give the pair a break. IF they are in it for the notoriety, all this constant debate is playing RIGHT into their hands.

According to today’s Telegraph, they will set up charitable foundation similar to the Obamas, the Clooneys, the Clintons and the Gates, presumably advised by them all also. Lots of connections, Oprah, James Corden, Jessica Mulroney, Meghan’s BFF and DIL of a former Canadian PM.
Makes you wonder if all this was thought about when the wedding guest list was sent out.
The D and D of Sussex may prove very popular in Canada and USA if all this comes to pass, but I think their appeal in this country will swiftly wane.

Judging by comments from my friend in USA they may not be too popular their either.

I don’t really care if they leave or not but before they do can they please pay back the millions we paid to do up Frogmore House which they will now not live in. (I don’t think they will hardly ever come back if Meghan has anything to say about it!)

If they have planned this for a long time why couldn’t they have stayed in Kensington Palace until they left and saved us all the money. I have a lot of time for the Royals who work hard but not much for either of them at the moment

I thought the same thing calendargirl I read a comment the Obamas, Bill Gates et al have all worked to get where they are Harry & Meghan were born or married into it. ^
It seems they are cashing in on their family connections.

You keep repeating this but I am yet to see any real evidence.

The renovations apparently took 6 months and were done when H&M moved in

Now I don't have a problem with this particularly. The house needs to be preserved

But the evidence all points to the bespoke decor etc etc being done for H&M
