i am temporarily following this issue with M&H despite being anti Royal...so could not resist putting up a new thread as things develop.
This will be a first for the Royals for sure.

There is more information appearing now on M & H
M wants to continue where she left off with her career and can now ask to be paid in eye watering amounts of money.
That is their plan
She will do it by flogging her Royal status.

Is this really allowed?
Her and H can be in an advert and then seen wearing the product.
This is what they meant by modernising the monarchy.
Tacky is an understatement.

What do others on Gransnet think?

She might pull down the whole House of Cards.

And they were not pushed they have been planning all this for over a year.

Also they have to find about being Taxed, here and in US and possibly Canada, A new world for H.

leaving Catherine off the list
Isn't taking hair envy a little too far ?

But PH's charitable work, unless he just intends to be just another aid worker, depends on him having a high international profile and all the scrambled egg that goes with being a senior working member of the Royal family, and if he gives that up, there isn't much left to trade on, or at least not for long.

And he has always been able to go to Africa, and do documentaries on crossing the Antarctic etc.

Just waiting for the pictures in the operating theatre, the
Interview with Oprah and the Book. How not to behave after
35 years of unbelievable privilege!!

trisher Mon 13-Jan-20 10:28:28

M0nica one of the things they want is more freedom to pursue their own charity work. I don't remember the Windsors in exile having any charitable interests. Harry's charity Sentebale seems to be doing great work in Africa.

If we're going to have X factor Royals I want it televised and us all given a vote sparkii

sparkii Mon 13-Jan-20 08:57:02

I think they should do an X factor type thing at their meeting. The guilty party should perform infront of a panel of experts and then get voted off or allowed to go through to the next round.

This is so beginning to read like a rerun of Edward VIII and Mrs Simpson, even though Prince Harry is a long way down the succession list.

The choices ahead of them seem to be a pointless exile and useless life in a foreign country, like Edward VIII and wife in France, in fact I think this is what -will- happen to Harry, there is no other option. Edward VIII also saw himself as continuing to be able to represent the crown in various ways after his abdication. They did make him Governor of Barbados, but only to get him away from his Nazi chums during the war, otherwise he might have been interned, but otherwise he was right out of it.

If the marriage fails Meghan will end up like Fergy, a member of the demi-mondaine, wandering around the edges of society in the US, trying to get some money where she can and struggling to stay solvent as her interest to the public wanes. She will probably ending up like her father, a beached hulk, of interest to no-one.

All rather sad.

My name choice might land me in trouble like the man who thought he had the rights to “Royal” as it was his trademark! Was surprised that it could be taken back once established but MM proving once more that what Meghan wants Meghan gets.

I think the implied blackmail threat about Harry doing a tell all interview would backfire badly on them. What a nasty way to treat your grandma and father.

With the benefit of hindsight MM having only one family member at her wedding should have been a warning sign. So much now points to the favourite MN topics of narcissism and going no contact.

Of course it’s not racism - but they need something to pin the blame on. Nothing to do with their dubious behaviour of course, oh no...

rubysong Sun 12-Jan-20 21:17:08

They can't plead racism. Look at the way everyone cheered them at the wedding and how everyone welcomed her mother. We were hoping she would come over here to live. If people have lost patience it is because of their behaviour, nothing to do with her race.

maddyone Sun 12-Jan-20 20:01:33

SirChenjin grin

SirChenjin Sun 12-Jan-20 19:10:06

I hope you’ve trademarked your username there Sussex - that’s a perfect one for Archie!

Sussexborn Sun 12-Jan-20 18:57:17

MM is also accusing the U.K. of racist behaviour towards her! What next I wonder?

I didn’t have any particular feeling about them until their hypocrisy about green issues. Lecturing the world and then taking four journeys in Elton’s private jet over a couple of weeks.

If they get their wish their announcements will no longer be published so we will have to live our lives without them telling us how to live.

OH has just said that he didn’t miss them whilst they were away and doesn’t think he will in the future!

moggie57 Sun 12-Jan-20 18:17:29

i cant see the marriage lasting myself .ok they should move to canada but no more money from the royal family .after all they got their own millions and they must pay for their own security too.really feel for h ,as he had only known m a year .not long enough to find out her traits good or bad. usa/canada not like britain with traditions...

merlotgran Sun 12-Jan-20 18:15:55

Where can we see this list?

Callistemon Sun 12-Jan-20 18:15:28

On the throne not in it

Callistemon Sun 12-Jan-20 18:15:09

Oh, I see, it is those in the throne and in direct line above him.

And all relevant parties
Does that include us, the British public whose taxes have funded them?

I was rather sympathetic but am losing patience now.

jo1book Sun 12-Jan-20 18:13:57

Cheeky buggers

SirChenjin Sun 12-Jan-20 18:13:03

Heading of

SirChenjin Sun 12-Jan-20 18:12:47

I think Catherine comes under the heading over “all relevant parties”. They’re going to continue to “Collaborate Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties”. How jolly magnanimous of them grin

jo1book Sun 12-Jan-20 18:11:56

Well who was on the list?

Callistemon Sun 12-Jan-20 18:10:01

Thanks annsixty

Well, it is true then and breathtakingly arrogant.

Callistemon Sun 12-Jan-20 18:09:11

I hadn't hears that either jolbrook

If true, that is extremely presumptuous!
Harry may find he is no longer on anyone's list.

annsixty Sun 12-Jan-20 18:08:21

That was in the statement they issued.
