Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry here in Brackley this morning.
Usual day bus to Buckingham , then Bicester and back , coffee stops and when I get home a Chinese take away later.
My Bus schedules will change in 2 weeks time ,as we are getting a direct bus to Bicester , but I think I will miss what I do now .

Morning Mick and everyone to follow.

Dry and dark in Kent.
DH has to go and see a man about about some new doors he wants hung. That will keep him busy next week which is good as he goes stir crazy in winter when he can't do his gardening job.
Have a good day everyone and I hope all those poorly or troubled can find comfort.

Good morning from dark Leicestershire - it was blowing a gale in the night!

Just had a lovely few days with the DGC. It is very quiet here now so will go out for coffee this morning.

Hope everyone is getting over the lurgy and Mary and Gilly are okay.

Good morning from Malta where it feels very chilly. I haven’t posted for ages but still read this thread every day and wish you all a Happy New Year.

Today is not going to be a happy one as I have a funeral to attend this afternoon. The husband of one of my dearest friends. They had been to the UK over Christmas and had a lovely time with family, returning to Malta a week ago.

My friend waited outside the airport with the luggage whilst her husband went to fetch their car but he never made it, killed by a taxi as he was crossing the road.

It’s all very distressing and I don’t know how my friend will go on after this .

Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning all from a dark and blowy Glasgow.

Pain levels woke me up, so I have been pottering about. DH had adjusted the heating and the house is very cold, I sneakily overruled him and put it on at high! grin.
I was born in the wrong country!!! I need some heat.

I got a phone call from the hospital yesterday, saying they were changing my heart meds, as I seem to have taken a backward step.
The cardiac nurse said that the letter was being dictated at that very moment and I would hear from my GP next week.
A couple of hours later, the doctor's surgery phoned to say my new heart prescription was waiting for me. Now that is the NHS at it's best!
Hopefully I will see some improvment soon, I have been feeling quite low and frustrated recently.

Dragonfly, thank you for your good wishes and I hope Gilly and all those who are unwell are on the mend.

Enjoy your Saturday, everyone.

Marydoll Sat 04-Jan-20 07:20:44

Bellasnana, what tragic news. sad. I just don't know what to say, there aren't any words of comfort in a situation like that.
You just need to be there for your friend, which I'm sure you will be.

Beechnut Sat 04-Jan-20 07:21:56

Good Morning everyone and nice to to see you back Bellasnana. I was only recently thinking about you. How awful for your friend.

It’s dry here on Severnside and I’ve some housework and washing to do today. DD is coming over later for dinner.

Have a good day all?

Yiayia4 Sat 04-Jan-20 07:26:21

Bellasnana how dreadful for your friend. It will indeed be a sad day for your friend. Good to see you back I missed the morning update from Malta.

Mary that is indeed the NHS at its best. I hope the new meds make you feel better.

Good Morning to all

It is my youngest’s birthday today. She is 25 and that makes me feel old!

We are taking her and her DH and DS out for lunch so a good excuse to put my glad rags on this morning. I will hold off on the trip to Aldi until this afternoon as I would never make it round with heels on!!!

I have offered to go and collect them and take them back so my DD can have a few glasses of wine.

Hope all above and all to come have the best day they can today.

Grammaretto Sat 04-Jan-20 07:59:39

Good morning Mick and all from the Scottish Borders . It feels mild but I'm still abed. We are dark in the mornings but a bit lighter in the afternoons.
Very sorry Bellasnana to hear that tragic news.
MaryDoll I do hope a change in your meds will help you feel like your old self. Being in pain is no fun.

Our Edinburgh theatre outing was excellent.
I'm not quite back into my routine so not baking until my oven is fixed.
Have a good day all of you.

Resurgam123 Sat 04-Jan-20 07:59:45

Good morning Saturday. Good morning Sark
Bellasnana, Sorry to hear about your friend.
As usual I am still in my dressing gown and about to get my tea.
The sky is just getting light here in Cheshire.

kittylester Sat 04-Jan-20 08:05:30

Morning all from a cloudy looking North Leicestershire.

Lovely to see you back bella but what a sad thing to happen.

I should be up and doing as we have a few of the neighbours coming for supper and, as DD3 and co came yesterday, the house could definitely do with a tidy. We also saw ds2 yesterday afternoon.

Enjoy your days everyone and best wishes to all who are struggling in any way.

Curlywhirly Sat 04-Jan-20 08:06:59

Good morning all and welcome to GN Sark. Many thanks for all my Birthday good wishes yesterday, had a lovely day though Madeira was a little cloudy, hope today is sunny as we intend to go on a Gulet cruise.

Have a good day everyone and take care.

cornergran Sat 04-Jan-20 08:08:26

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s gloomy in our corner of Somerset, heavy cloud. I’m so sorry for your friends loss bellasnanna, a sad day for you all today. The NHS is wonderful when it works marydoll, look after yourself. Greetings sark, enjoy your breakfast. The flipping germs don’t want to leave us here, both exhausted but minor compared to many ills. Need a food shop this morning, not much else today. Hope Saturday is kind to everyone.

NanKate Sat 04-Jan-20 08:11:51

Morning Mickand All.

Shortly off to the urgent medical clinic at our hospital as I suspect my hacking cough has turned into pleurisy and I need to get some antibiotics in me pdq.

Report back tomorrow.

Bellesnana ?

Good morning from a dreich, wet Aberdeenshire.

It will be a wet, muddy walk in the woods today so may have to bath the mutt when we get back. I'll be popular!

Am going to attack the ironing pile today...where does it all come from when there is only me in the house?

Had a lovely long chat with my co-grannie last night and it was fun to compare Christmas notes about the extended family.

Still don't feel like eating much so shall make another bucket of broth to live off.

Have a good day everyone.

Sark Sat 04-Jan-20 08:12:11

Thank you Marydoll.grin and hope you feel better soon.
Have a good day every one

BlueSapphire Sat 04-Jan-20 08:13:57

Good morning all; still in my dressing gown too, Resurgam! It is dry here in Northampton this morning and looks as though it might be a nice day once it gets lighter.

What a shocking thing to happen, Bellasnana; so sad and heartbreaking. Hope that your friend has her family with her.

Have decided to go into town this morning to pick up a jumper I ordered online, so will have a coffee (and perhaps cake!) while I am out. Then this afternoon will set up the new bedside radio I collected the other day. Have gone for a digital one as I am fed up with constantly retuning to get a better FM signal.

Hope that you new meds make you feel better soon Marydoll.

Mythbirtthedragon Sat 04-Jan-20 08:21:58

Good morning from east London, looking promising out there as the sky is clear. Today is a cleaning day; DP is working his way through the dust in the attic and I feel I should at least hold a duster. DD has also gifted us several bags of stuff for the charity shop which I’ll check as her cat gets in everywhere. Hope you have a good day.

vena11 Sat 04-Jan-20 08:31:28

Good Morning All from Bristol where we have a clear sky again today. I hope today is as nice as yesterday as it felt like spring.A nice long walk is on the cards and then settle down to catch up with a bit of tv
Bellasnanna so sorry for your friend what a thing to happen.
Marydoll I hope your new meds work,
Welcome Sark
I hope everyone else with ills have a better day.

DoraMarr Sat 04-Jan-20 08:35:18

Good morning from Birmingham, where there is a beautiful early morning sky promising a sunny day, I hope! I have my two year old and three year old grandaughters here after a sleepover. They very obligingly slept until eight, and are now playing nicely together ( with the occasional argument.) We’re going to make pancakes for breakfast, then have a trip to the park next door.
Mary glad you are getting help so promptly.

aggie Sat 04-Jan-20 08:36:33

Good Morning all, dark and still outside . I made a big pot of soup yesterday too , most of it is in the freezer in small portions , handy for a quick lunch .
That was dreadful Bellananna , your poor friend , and I expect it has saddened yourself xxx
Marydoll , I hope the meds help you . I have the heating here turned down and off at night , it is a new build and so well insulated it warms up if I make toast ! But I know you need heat with your pains xxxx
